Question Size does matter!

And exact dimensions help. I am hoping someone can point me in the direction of where to get the specs for standard sizes of PC parts. I need to know the exact spacing for the risers for a standard ATX mobo (and mATX), screw placement and outside dimensions of standard CD Rom drive, exterior dimensions and yet again, screw locations of a standard ATX power supply. It's going to be a long winter here in Alaska, and I'm gonna start designing my custom case.

Also, anyone know of a good company to have custom metal working farmed out to? If not, it isn't a big deal, I still have contacts from my old systems design days, but if anyone knows a shop with a good laser or water cutting machine would be great.

C'mon folks, serious question which is getting rare on the forums. I darn well expect to see 2 pages of useful replys by the end of the night.

well you know what they say, it's not the size of the boat in the storm it's the motion of the ocean

I'll strap some calipers on a motherboard at work tomorrow and let you know, does it have to be metric or standard?

I work in both metric and standard - I use AutoCAD so I can switch between measurement systems on the fly.

I'm so much of an AutoCAD God, AutoDesk used to give me free licensed software before I was 18 (and he ain't talkin' dat educational use BS). Okay, enough narcism. Actually anymore I'm rather rusty. Haven't used my copy of AutoCAD in over 2 years really.

Okay, I'm having problems finding dimensions again for slim form factor CD roms. If anyone can help me search it'd be great.
