Talking My Durable Paint Job

Hey everyone....this is my first mod....decided to do something abit diff than everyone else....

http://forums.gideontech.com/vps/sho...r=3871&thumb=1

Why do just a basic paint job....soo....I took the case down to a local Line-x dealer (spray on truck bed liner for those that don't know) and had everything but the front of the case covered (1st case to have that done to as far as I've seen..never seen/heard about another)...scratch resistent...durable....and pretty damn nice looking..plus it gives it a texture rather than being straight smooth........

Used a dremel and cut freehand the design out of the side...didn't take too long..but used up about 20 of the reinforced disks..hehe...didn't want to take forever...

You can't see it from the pick but theres a 120MM fan on the opp side as an intake...

Also used a green tinted plexiglass rather than clear to darken the cold cathode....

Whatda think?

**************************************************

Per requested! I have taken a couple more pictures of the case inside and out....enjoy! (sorry for the large pics!)

im not a fan of glittery paint but the window cut is awesome.

i saw was lookin at those other pictures on gideotech........i noticed u had the st. anger fist but into the side of
i really hope u just like the fist and not st. anger
id have to say st. anger is one of the worst albums i have ever heard, i cant believe i wasted my time dl'n it......(screw riaa)
i was hardcore metallica fan, but i started to fade when they got into all that napster sh1T!!!!, pissed me, then jason newsted left, then they come out with this nastyly recoreded album, just to get the garage sound.....WTF IS THAT CRAP, garage sound sounds like sh1T!!!!
other than that i like ur case looks kicka$$, what is that "rino" stuff u used to make it that texture??

Acutally...I'm not sure if that fist is from whatever album your talking about.....its a logo we (friends) use for a Quake/Oldschool TF/DoD/whatever Clan......just a fist w/ a circle around...

As for the "rhino" stuff....its actually a better grade professionally done by a company called Line-x....not sure if thier national or not....we have them here in Oklahoma...but...its alot better grade stuff than that crap you buy at like Autozone or parts stores that you put on yourself........plus..it has a warranty and costs a hell of alot cheaper....i would have had to buy a $120 kit just to do what he did for $30...and I would have had major excess w/ the kit....

what kind of fan is that? the blue one on the proc?

it turned out really nice, i think i would rather have shiney over durable because i dont kik my comp of anything but if you like it thats tight.

i love the front and the window cut out, those disks are expensive i coulent even afford 20 of them!! and good idea with the tinted plexi. nice work.

The outside of the case looks very well put together. I can see how the Line-X is useful...no worrying about scratching the paint. Awesome job on that and the blowhole.

Only problem is the inside. I don't know how to say this gently so I won't....it looks like garbage. The whole point of a window is to show off your neat, cool inside as well as the outside, not a half-assed attempt at wire sleeving and mix-matched colors and style of fans. Might want to work on that. Also the next thing you might want to think about is modding the innards. It would look really pimp painted and maybe a windowed PSU on top of what I stated above.

yes the interior needs some work, looks like a snake pit or spaghetti but you got the exterior down pat

Yea I know.....
The interior was a last minute thing.....wanted to do more w/ it...but...got tired of the looming and didn't want to mess w/ splicing wires and what not.....working on it tho....

Really...when looking in through the window....it doesn't look bad on the inside....wish I could get a dark image shot..but...camera sucks and it comes out WAY too dark
