Just registered. I've been browsing the forums and galleries here for a while now, and finally decided to register. I've only recently started modding my computers, but I dont see any end to it soon

I'll post up some pics of my computers later. Right now I am painting the case for my celeron 500 DVD/Media player. I'm just waiting for the paint to dry to take some pics. The computer is/was a uniview 310 set-top-box. I got it for $30, it was only missing a hard drive and
RAM. It was originally a celeron 366, but the previous owner conveniently upgraded it to a celeron 500. It has an onboard ATI All in wonder rage XL video card, with TV tuner and TV-out. It also has onboard Aureal A3D sound, with SPDIF out for digital pass-thru. I had a spare Western Digital 13.6GB hard drive and 256MB PC100
RAM laying around. It runs Windows XP beautifully, and plays movies awesome, even XViD's. I also use it for an SNES/NES emulator. It has 2 USB ports, one on the front, and my USB hub becomes a multi-tap for my USB game controllers

This 310 did not come with a DVD drive, or any optical drive. It has a 3.5" bay for a floppy though. The case was designed for a DVDROM drive though, so it had a hole in the front of it, just not one in the face plate. I cut the hole using a dremel and a sprial saw bit, and filed it smooth. I made brackets to mount it from sheet aluminum. I also added a blue LED inside it, just for the hell of it

These pics are from before painting, after the DVDROM was added.
