![]() ![]() | Didn't really want to "spill the beans", but I just picked this up today and had to show ya'll how nice it came out. It's for my next project which should be done in 3-4 weeks. Just in time for HL2, Halo, Call of Duty, etc.

| Mastah Overclocker | Is that a built in Shoestring Potato Grater on the left? J/K WOW looks SCHAWEET!!! Nothing catches my eye at the car shows more than tatsefully done Black and Chrome Musclecar, My Black 360 four speed 64 Dart GT was a real attention getter with all the Chrome trim. (man I miss that car) What color is the rest of it going to be?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey potato, I was looking into chroming as well recently. Could you tell me how much it cost to get that part done? And also is that single-coated or triple chromed?....And it is nickel, not "hard chrome" right? Where would I get chroming done anyway? Do they have special chroming shops or did you get it done at an auto painting shop or something? Edit: Whoops with all my inqueries I forgot to congratulate you. It looks awesome man. Can't wait to see the finished product.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Tater J, Saaaaweet, bro, gotta love show chrome... The chrome you see, is actually, nickel....The process is to first polish out the original piece, then it is given a copper dip. Polished to a bright luster, then electroplated with Nickel. Then again with chrome, which has no color. So what you see is a hard surfaced, nickel, over copper or Triple Chrome Plating... ..My recent inquiery into chromming a optical drive case was quoted as 50-75.00...I'll opt out for a shrink coat of "monokote"chrome, 18.99 for 6 square. |

| Mystical Schwinn Guru | being a musclecar freak why didn't I think of that first, still I can't wait to see it. Gotta have the flames, like on the Cuban Hermes in Vice City, can't think of anything else that has them right off. OOH OOH you could put a ducting mod on the top, like a hood scoop or something and stick a 120MM fan on it. Then a wheelie bar and a 5" tach and a roll cage and an 8-ball shift lever for ovrclocking, and hang little fuzzy dice inside it. CHROME YOUR WC PLUMBING IT WOULD LOOK SWEET AS PHUC |

![]() ![]() | I've tried it, and numerous other "chrome" paints.....that's why I went with real chrome, none of the paints even come close to the real thing. The best that I found was Krylon "Original Chrome". Coel had a thread on it a while ago and I tried it and found it to be the best one even though it don't compare to the real thing.

| Still Duck's Hoe Though | Joe's speaking the truth there. I've tried pretty many myself, and none have that "bling" factor of the real thing. Most will dull, and get smudgy looking quite quickly too.
