| okay well i am trying to cool off my sisters case (yea bad paint job, sloopy wiring etc..i don't feel like modding this right now because she wants it back ASAP) at any rate... there if a side fan which attaches itself to the case in this fashion ![]() and here is the outside ![]() now i have a couple of options right now... i need your input on this one dudes.. well i could either mod the side and put in a 120mm fan... which is the fan i have in the front... but i might not wanna do that because she ALWAYS complains about how "loud" her comp is.. i could also put a 80mm cheapo deluxe fan on the side, or i can leave it as is so that the cpu could take in air from the side..what im worries about here is that the side fan might not be fast enough to provide enough cfms to the 92mm enermax | ||

| My God, Clean that Heatsink with some air ![]() I think you might be better off with the 120 on the side. Looking at the front, its probably too constrained. Is there a fan for the back? If so, make it blow outward, and make the 120 blow In from the side. | ||

| it used to be worse before... the heatsink that is... and yea i have an exhaust fan... i would NEVER think of making a comp without at least 1 case fan on exhaust...but lets say the 120mm on the side is no longer an option...(i've got a physics and genetics test coming up) which would be better, a 80mm cheapo on the side or nothing.. (i have the same 80mm cheapo fan on the side) and by 80mm cheapo i mean ones that the chieftec cases came with about 3 years ago | ||

| you guys are right, i need the 120mm fan on the side, right now i took sum test temps and right now the case was at about 36c and the cpu at 42 at full load, but as i took the side panel off, the temps droppped down to 33c for the case and 41 for the cpu... so yeah, im probably gonna move it to the side, do some dremeling etc...whatever itll just make my mod skills better anyways lol.. i will probably add a 92mm intake (the case is only made for a 92mm intake and the front bezel has no grill of any form) yea i know, im thinking about what i can turn this hunk of junk into as much as you guys...just wish i had the time and funds, it could end up with a pretty sweet, well cooled micro case *edit: new development...i wanna buy some things to trick this lil guy out..i came back and it was at 64C at full load cuz the AC wasnt on..because of this i think that it is imperitize that i put in some extra fans primarly one on the side, http://www.xoxide.com/thunderblade4.html that seem like a good quiet fan to put on the side, i wanna get something blue with a good amount of cfm's... im also thinking aboutgeting a lightining bolt blue arcylic blue grill... also i was wondering if those PCI card coolers are worth it or not... i mean do they really exhaust well... also do u think a fan on top would do anything or is there too much junk up there to do anything/...thanks for all your input** Last edited by WuGgaRoO; 04-August-06 at 02:35 AM.. | ||
