Default Case Mod Suggestions

Im pretty sure some of you are probably shocked Im posting in this section, But I really need some Ideas. Im starting to get really bored, and I need something to do. Ive picked out a Case from the shop (well, I actually took the guts from another case [a better case if you will] and Im going to put them in this case)

Before I begin, I plan on this being a simple mod, but I need something to give me a challenge worth doing. Heres what I have so far as a plan;
  • Side Window
  • Blow Hole in the front (I have PVC pipe thats just the right size) I also have Smaller ABS pipe (Ideas for this anyone?)
  • And Somehow, I am going to integrate something I'll be building (electronics wise)
  • I Will be integegrating This Fan Bus I made on a Failed project. (see these posts, 1, 2 .
  • What Im not going to do is Try to make it bigger, I think Im inexperienced for that big of a mod...
  • I have already picked out colors, They are Metal Specks Blue and This Darker Blue which I may have to buy more of.
  • For the Front, I am going to cover it up with Plexy since I dont have the front bay covers (not a big deal)
Im not going to do a theme either, I figure Id start out simple.

If your wondering, the Specs are Old:
P400Mhz
No Idea how much Ram (I think its 32Mb or 64MB, I'll have to steal it from another computer I have)
Whatever HDD I can Find
Some 2 or 4X AGP Card
Os: Im going to give linux another try. I might just use this one for just websurfing somewhere.

So Any Ideas?

Paint:

The picture doesnt do any justice for the paint, If you look closly you can see "specs" of RGB and Yellow.

Front:

Back. It has a removable mobo tray

I plan on carving out that curve in the side of the case instead of a square window. I am also going to cut out that small window, and put an etching or something on the side.

On the top right of the bezel where those LED's are, change the bolor of the LED's because they are probably still amber/yellow. Do something with that power button too.

Are you planning a design for the windows?

Hey Nerdz, thats an old Inwin A500 case. When you do that window, give yourself plenty of clearance. maybe 1/8" thick acrylic and don;t make the window too large.
As you've probally noticed, removing & re-installing that case cover is a PITA. If the window is too thick, its really a pain getting that cover to slide back on. Same goes for adding cooling fans in the cover.

You could do a Turbine Fan mod with that PVC

It is a PIA to take the cover off (which is why I'll practice on this case), I think I have 1/16th Plexy or Lexan. I also have 1/2 Inch thick plexy I was thinking of doing that, but I dont have a nose cone. The ones Ive made out of paper look a bit long and Odd Too. I wanted to put a fan on the side, but seeing its a pia to take the cover off, I maynot do it. Although If I make the wire Long enough It wouldnt pose a problem. Its only a P400Mhz anyway..

I am planning on doing the same thing you did to "Malfunction". I really dont like the bottom bezel or that triangle thing going down the middle. As for the switchs, Im going to buy a Momentary switch, and then use a keyswitch along with it, since I'll be ordering some electronics parts.

Now I have to go out and get bondo, I tried using vinyl spackling, and it doesnt adhere well to the plastic..

"And now for something completely different."

Put a pvc or acrylic pipe straight from front to back with embedded intake fans at both ends. Then run ducts off it to cpu, gpu, nb, psu, memory. OC that old thing.

Oh, didn't notice it's a psu in front of mobo case.

E-D-I-T Referring to mount position,...
