Is it impossible to build a case from scratch

Well I was just wondering how possible it would be to build a case from sheets of aluminum. I have been planning out this case in my head the last month or so.. and I know i won't be able to do it for at least a half a year when i can completly focus on building it. So i figure as i get the blueprints together i get your guys opinion on it. I know this will take a boatload of planing to accomplish..but i am more than willing to do so.
1) how hard would it be to bend the aluminun edges so I can peice the thing together
2) What type of tools should i try to acquire in order to work on aluminum properly (i already own a dremel and i was thinking about picking up a jigsaw)

not at all I started one but school came too fast and had to buy a case. Here are some nice links!

hmmm...metal bender.. is there any aforable version of this other than a hammer and the edge of a work bench?

you can find cheap ones on Ebay for $60.00,But thay're crappy.

the whole hammer and edge idea is looking a lot better... lol..i just can't spend that type of dough on somehting i am going to use once.... who knows..i am working in a production lab next year..maybe they have some tools i can utilize
