| Hey fellow Pimps and Pimpette.. hmm... I mean.. Hey Fellow PCApex'ers and PCApex'ettes Wow..as you can see, it been a while since I have been back here ![]() Well.. I wanted to share some great news with everyone. My case, Tribal Eclipse is on the cover of the August CPU Magazine, and featured in the Mad Reader Mod section. Here is a pic of the cover: ![]() courtesy of CPU magazine. I wanted to drop a quick post here to thank 2 fellow PR members that helped out with this case: Thrasher2 - With out T2, I wouldn't have the awesome plexi glass for the side panels. He was so pimp to help me with Plexi for both this case, and my last case mod which was called Dragster. I still have enough plexi for my upcoming case mods ![]() Grumblestiltskin - This guy has some very SICK skills!!! If you check out the Tribal Name plates, and the masking for the side panel, that was all done by him. He was able to convert my digital images into reality. He even gave me a crash course in Corel Draw ![]() I really wanted to post a WL for this case mod, but with the nature of the CoolerMaster case mod contest last year, I was not able to. So here are some pics of the case for everyone: The alum was cut by G-Man ![]() Here is some of my dremel work: ![]() I is a pic of the inside: ![]() The Money shot ![]() ![]() Here is a pic of the heat reactive paint: ![]() ![]() ![]() So I hope you like the post, but thanks to T2 and G-Man for their great help. SAD PS - I am starting 2 new summer case mod. A bit ambitious in doing 2 at the same time I will be posting these upcomig cases in the worklog sections, so hopefully I will be getting some great input from you folks here. Thanks again. | ||

Thanks for the congrats ![]() To answer your question about the front panel, the idea came form MNPCtech guy's stingray mod. Just wanted to give credit for where I got the idea form. Bascialy the front' panels uses 2 friction hinges that can be found at ACE Hardware. Then you just drill holes into the chasis and front panel, and mount it accordingly. It will then allow you to swing the front panel up. Just be aware these are "Friction" hinges. So the weight is a factor. Hope that is what you wanted to know ![]() SAD | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| That's the first time I've seen heat reactive paint used on a computer. And it looks amazing! The way the screen is on the moving panel is like nothing I've ever seen, too. Well, Amazing work! And Bill, that was the first issue of CPU I have ever read. Well, my dad picked it up and I was thinking "the style and fan grills look familiar. Hey, I think they sell something like them on mnpctech." Heh, then I actually read the writeup. The aribrushing is stunning! | ||

| Hey folks, Sorry for the slow reply, I've been a little busy in RL ![]() As for the heat reactive paint, that is from a company called Alsa Corp. http://www.alsacorp.com/ They make some of THE SICKEST paint additivies around. This case used their Eclipse paint, as well as their Silver Base Coat, and Candy Apple Red. I also used their Crazer paint on my Dragster Case mod a while back. These paints are designed for the automotive and professional industry, so their prices accordingly. If you know how much HOK paint cost, this runs in the same range. And inorder to use their paint, you need to have an HVLP setup (HVLP Gun, Large Air Compressor, and so forth). I do believe they just came out with Rattle can versions of their paint. I havne't had any experience with them, so I do not know how far they go. As for Bill, you are an awesome modder. I know you have inspired many mods. When I saw your lift up front panel on your Stingray case, I had to adapt it with an LCD and put it on dragster. It worked out great to give me a functional LCD on the front, while stealthing the Drive Bays. As for Necro - Its good to be back buddy You should be seeing some more posts from me coming soon ![]() To everyone - THanks for all the Reps I really do appreciate it. I am working on my next case mod tomorrow, and I will defeinietly share the WL in this forum.Take care. SAD PS - SYCK!!! I just hit my 400th Post with this message ![]() | ||
