Default cold cathode

Where can I get some for cheap? So far, shipping included, the cheapest is $25 off of eBay. All I really need is the tube and a molex connector for it. Going to need a green and a blue, one for each case I'm working on.

im not one of the best person to ask for sources but i know that ebay is not the best place to look for cold cathodes. First of all browse some of the sponsers on the side like xoxide and zxmods, i know all of them have CC.

You can pick up CC kits at PC Mods for bout 25 bucks including molex connecter and all.

im sure everyone else has some good sources so dont buy right away

For a quarter of the price, you can pick up various sizes and shapes of 12V lights; for example the light bars you see on rigs and ricer-mobiles. As long as it works off of 12V, it's childsplay to hook up. Sometimes, they're brighter than CC/neons, too.

I only suggest this because you're obviously on a budget (like I am), and when I see something that's too expensive, I find a way to make my own substitute. That's more []D[][]V[][]D, too.

You can go to HeatsinkFactory and pick one up for $14.99 or two for like 26 or 27. Not bad at all if you want two of'em!

Cold cathodes? Ha! You can build an equally bright LED array for a fifth of the cost (and have more color possibilities).

I can understand if you cant afford a GF4 TI 4600 but if $20 for a CC is blowing the budget you probably should not have spent the money for the window!......... ok im finished

The window will cost $3 and the effort it takes to cut the hole. I'd have it already cut, but my dremel is taking issue with the whole "being used" thing. As for the budget, the main factors in creating the need for cheapness are that I don't want to have to spread this over more than one paycheck, and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay more than I have to. (<---My general approach to buying things)

What does the inverter do for me?

Thumbs up got mine at....

Bought my first CC from Frozencpu.com, was very nice, standard shipping was 2day overnight for 8$, and they ship them in foamed tube inside a big as box filled to the brim with peanuts....i liked the fact that they took such care to make sure the item arrived in one peice.....i pay extra for that.....but it came to a grand total of about 25$, whole cathode array was very well made, came with mounting strips, round toggle switch....whole kit and kabootle

I don't know exactly what the inverter does....but it is the go between from the 12v rail to the light bulb.

Small PCB about the size of a wooden matchbook (often heatshrink wrapped).

No havey, no worky!

All of the pre-mades will come with. If you DIY you will need to buy / make one.

correct me if im wrong you electronic guru's, but im pretty sure the cold cathodes operate on AC, and your inverter is their to switch your 12V DC to AC.
