Exclamation Case Kenundrum

As a first time modder, i am looking into purchasing a new case so that i can start my modding on a clean canvas. I have been reading reviews like crazy trying to find out the pros and cons of different case types and looks. Lately i have narrowed the choice down to 2! I want to be sure to leave myself some room for future modding projects and still achieve a nice look that will be flexible with my future modding needs.
I turn to the forums for feedback from you the modderz on which case may be the better choice.

The 2 cases in question are:

Lian-Li PC 6085A
THermaltake Tsunami Dream Case

According to reviews i have read at other websites both cases are solid, and hold their own points for different features.

I am just looking for suggestions on cases and what things i have to be sure to consider before buying!?

Well, I have a Tsunami, And I LOVE IT, few problems exist, but they are all about PSU mounting, it is really akward to position it properly, and the screw holes leave something to be desired, but otherwise it is a beautiful piece of art that likely costs half the Lian Li.

I'm sure that you can get the Tsunami for much less than the Lian-Li case. It's a decent blank canvas as long as you don't want to do any cutting on the door.

Default 2 cents

just my 2 cents but if u really want to mod ur case try going with a cheaper case or a case u can get used off a friend or somthing like that y buy a $200 case and then possibly screw it up.... try ur skills and such on a older case that has no mods to it already and see what u can doo..... id hate to see ya make a bad cut and make ur tsunami look bad.....

just my 2cents

I have the Tsunami Dream, and think it's a great case.
Like BA says, modding the door would be difficult or impractical, but you could mod any other part of it just as well as any other case.

Had no problem mounting the PSU up on it's rack, but I did have to open up two of the holes that screw the PSU into the back of the case. Reamed them out another .010" and I was good to go. In other words, the holes didn't line up well, and I had to make two of them just a little bigger.

Had no other issues with the case. I did cut out that entire top hatchway to make room for an MNPCtech blowhole and got rid of that really ugly orange fan on the window.

Getting real good airflow and good temps. The filters are keeping the dust bunnies at bay. The removable hard drive rack is great for my RAID setup.

This case is money well spent .......

BTW, welcome to PCAPEX. What part of Canada are you from?

Welcome to PCApex. If you don't already know about this little thing called Folding@Home here is some info about it.

OUR GOAL
Understanding how proteins self-assemble ("protein folding") is a holy grail of modern molecular biophysics. What makes it such a great challenge is its complexity, which renders simulations of folding extremely computationally demanding, and difficult to understand. The Stanford group has developed a new way to simulate protein folding. However, this method is extremely computationally demanding and they need our help.
For more info about it stop by F@H's home page here.

With that in mind you should read up on our team Team PCApex linkage. It is a great way to help humanity and PCApec alike.

If you are the competitive type you might want to join up in one of PCApex's sub teams for more info on them check these links.

Team Ups
Team Ator
T2's Folding Army

I love my Tsunami Dream. Great case if you ask me.

Thanks for the input, good advice, and good to know, I had leaned towards this case and so far from the feedback it sounds like it is not to sound repetitive "money well spent"

THanks for the welcome to Apex, and to answer your question i am from Bellevile,Ont!....are you from canada too?
