It seems pretty gimiky. it would be wicked to do a mod like that though.
Like have a dual VGA setup, one VGA on the fount screen, one on the monitor/TV.

Nice case, but you're right....very pricey.
A good sign though; wait a while and touch screens will be popping up in a lot of cases..... and for a fraction of the price.

Silverstone have been making great cases for awhile, I've got one their less expensive htpc cases and it's really smart.

Nice case, but I agree...pretty expensive...not that I wouldn't consider one for a client's HTPC.
My buddy has built a few media PCs that $650 for a case is chickenfeed compared to the cost of the plasma bigscreen, audio components, etc. Believe it or not, there are people out there with a heck of a lot more money than modding skills, or even the time and desire to build their own, as this Voodoo Aria demonstrates. $3500 for a meagerly speced rig...YOW!

It might be gimmicky, if it were anything but an HTPC case. But since it is an HTPC case, I think it could be a very useful feature.

My brother uses an HTPC and high-end HD projector at the core of his home theater system. Let's say he wants to listen to some music, or set a show to record on his way out the door. Why fire up the projector, when you can navigate folders and playlists with the little LCD?

Course, it'd still be cheaper to get most any 15-19" LCD as a second monitor than to get that case....

i found it for 599$ in a mag, but its still crazy money, i think its just because the touch screen. Which i think is pointless in an htpc, because most people set it above there reciever or in there entertanment unit....when was the last time to stood by youre tv when watching TV or a Movie? right.

most people are on the couch or in a chair, it would be alot more cost effective not to go touch screen and just put a regular 7" lcd in it. and use it for like a PIP (picture in picture) function coming from the tv...

Oh, yeah, awesome case. Too bad I don't have $650 in a mayo jar out back.

The touch screen is pretty cool! Pricey? Yeah! Although if you were building for someone who wants it, then let them flip the bill for it.

as to that original posted case - that was silverstone's answer to the Uneed x15e, which is by far the classiest case in the world. its on pcalchemy - ill link it once i find it again

that silverstone has nothing on the x15e's hi-fi look, simple elegance, and originality.

edit: here ya go - http://www.pcalchemy.com/product_inf...a8e75cf8caba52
