Default How dol you connect this thing??? Confused.

I want to get one of the Matrix Orbital LCD front panel displays but Im a bit confused about how it connects. Follow this link http://www.svc.com/mx431.html and you will see what I mean.

The thing has a USB cable that goes INSIDE the case. WTF? Are you supposed to run the cable to outside your case somehow and then plug it into a USB port? It would seem that way to me because there are no USB ports inside any PC I have ever seen.
I
found one review of the product but as far it installation it just said "installation was simple". It didn't say anything about how it actually connected.

Look at the second picture of the device. You will see the USB cable I am talking about. I just don't get it.

Thanks.

The picture show the External USB connector. Run it through an empty PCI slot.

The review says that an additional cable can be bought to hook the display to an internal USB header if you have one available.

If not, just run the USB cable to an external connector like Nerdz said. The review stated that the USB cable is a 3ft A to B. I'm sure that if you wanted to completely hide the cable, you could get a longer one and route it completely out of sight.

if you go to a computer junk store you can get a pci bracket for usb connectors or front panel ports. just remove the bracket and use the usb to header portion that way you dont need an external cable run and you wont have to pay shipping and you will be reducing, reusing, and recycling. for about $1 or $2 depending on store. you can also get the header connector (5 pin or 4 pin) and chop off the male connector and use the header. that would probably cost more money than a surplus usb header adapter unless you get an engineering sample of connectors from molex (free).
