okay, I've been mulling it about in my mind, and I've decided to start planning on tearing apart.. er.. heh.. modding, my HP Pavilion Case (the a305w model)
so far I know it will get a new power supply, because the stock 250w is just laughable... *laughs*
anyway, there ARE a few design "quirks" that don't necessarily limit the moddability, but do pose a bit of a pickle and naturally room for creativity..
the main situation is this: the case can accomodate up 2 hard drives in its current state (3 if you use the second 3.5 bay), but the mount is strange.. the drives mount vertically, and while the primary drive is easily accessable by opening the side panel, flipping a catch and taking the drive out.. the second drive can only be accessed by removing the mounting points of the first drive AND removing the whole front bezel! THEN in order to mout the drive itself you have to effectively screw the drive directly to the frame of the case.. while this provides fairly good venting because of the vent holes on the front, I would REALLY like more conventional mounting options.. below are a few pics of what I have to work with, and I can certainly take more of various angles.
any and all help is welcome!
like I said, this case seems really good for modding, but for the hard drive issue.. and the case is too big to think of just having one hard drive
