Ok, I just got this old ATX server case for fre, and I want to mod it. I had an really old AT server case, but thats too much of a pain in the ass to mod (Put an ATX backplate in, mobo standoffs etc)

I want to do the whole case in glossy black, with the bezel and stand in chrome. I'll put a side window in with a fan on it. I have 5 80mm fans I can put in and 1 120mm fan (not a pc fan, but its a DC fan up to 16volts it can take, and its all metal except for the spinng fan itself)

Also, put a window in the front sliding bay door..

Im looking for any advice or tips anyone can give, also the way to properly cool the case with the fans I have wouldn't hurt too

Looks like an ol' P2 there, you shouldn't need any fans to cool that except the fan on the CPU. I suggest you put a window in the top, the left side, and the bottom of the front.

Thats what was in the tower (PII 266 w/ MMX..woo), I took it out, Im putting my athlon system in it(when Im all done modding the case), so i need the cooling and lots'o'room

At the back, buncha weird holes, that I think can mount up to a 120mm fan. I was thinking of putting a 250w AT power supply for my fans/cdroms/hd's. And a arming switch to turn that psu on

Just automotive spray can paint, around $8 or so. (in CND $) Im a little low on funds, so I cant get the really expensive paint.

Looks like a great case to PLAY with...alot of modding can be done with so much room..

My very FIRST thought when I seen it I invisioned an all black case with the front mirrored...maybe some sort of decal/applique on the mirror....

Is that black oval the handle?? Moddable...lol

That oval is the power/hd LED's and I think a speed indicator LED

Damn. I need a bit to hold cutting discs on my brothers dremmel (Well another company, but same kinda tool) And I still cant find my jig saw

EDIT: Hrmm, I think I'll fit a peice of plexi-glass on the side, measuring 1 foot wide, 1 foot 21 inches high. Whatcha think?

Actually got some work done on it. Cut the one panel off the case (The cover is one whole unit) And cut out the bezel for the two 80mm fans im going to install(It will be a square peice of plastic with the two fans on it coving that hole I cut, and that plastic will be painted the same colour as the rest of the case)

The front bezel and tower stand will be all chrome, the rest black emerald.

Heres a crappy pic of what Ive done, I couldnt get a better one. Damn cheap ass jam cam.

EDIT: that tower, is an old at tower, used for practice in cutting...

It's straight but crooked...

Oh well, first time mod, cant be perfect. TIme for a rubber seal to hid the crookedness away

That's not a bad cut. Molding does wonders to hide small mistakes.
