| Apex Techie Lite | Hey, I rather new to modding, and I'm getting a new PC soon. I prefer a minimalistic / classy look to computer and I am definately going to stealth my optical drives (among other small mods). I was wondering if anybody knows how to move the tray eject / close button on a standard 5 1/4 drive. I was thinking about having my two DVD-burner drives stealthed at the top of my case and using a couple of momentary switches on another free bay cover to trigger it. (I hope its not too complicated) If you know of any guide of how to do this or (less importantly) move the activity LEDs to the extra bay, please let me know... Thanks, Tomokatsu ![]() | |

| As far as momentary switches, I've never seen it done before. What I HAVE seen/read about is offsetting the stealth panel from the front of the drive with thin neoprene, so that when you press on the stealth panel in the general area of the eject button, the whole thing opens. No need for additional switches and whatnot (unless you just HAVE to have them) I'll look around for it and get back to you, I can't remember exactly where it was I saw the project log... | ||

| Apex Techie Lite | Yeah, I've read about that too, but I didn't like the thought of having to reach around the front to close the tray properly. Just thought that if it wasn't too hard I would try to be slightly original. BTW, if you know of any small profile momentary switches, please let me know, cause all that I know of are the big buttons that stick out too much for my case's door. Thanks, Tomokatsu | |
