Got the Zalman LED 7000AlCu that i bought from AMD-playa installed finally. Quite an ordeal. Had to pop the grill on my power supply in to make it fit, trim of the end of one of the clips, downgrade my exhaust fan from a 120 to a 92 which had to be mounted w/ zip ties, not to mention taking the whole
mobo out to install the brackets. At least it gave me a chance to vaccum it out. Bonus, i also got to put my tooless card holder back in
and the coolers not interfering with my stiff xconnect
mobo power cable anymore. Im also convinced the dremel was designed by a lefty. My left wrist is singed from cutting off the clip...
Anyways, its a big improvement. I'm getting the same temps with the 7000, a 92mm exhaust fan and the side panel on, as the 6000 with a 120mm and the side panel off. Not bad considering its basically free, since im selling my 6000 with instalation to my friend for the same price i paid. Plus it looks a helluva lot better without the bigass fan bracket across my entire window. Anyways, hers pics...
