| I'm looking to create a device which synchronizes the flash of several strobe lights with the bass of an MP3 song--preferrably some kind of control unit managed by a winamp plugin. I can write the plugin, no problem, and build a serial or parallel interface, no problem, the only issue is how to trip the strobe. One idea I had was to use some kind of relay control board and switch the relays on and off to trip the strobe, but that gets kind of messy in terms of wiring and control. Anyone else got any ideas? | ||

| this isn't a very good answer as i'm sure you'll want to build it yourself, but wallmart and discount auto have small, surface mount tweeters that have "dancing" el wire around them for about $30 and wallmart has a woofer box for $40 that does it with CC's.. in both cases the circuit that makes them flash is an independent, modular case. plug the stereo into it then it itnto the lights. at the very least one of them may be able to give an idea of how the ciruit is made? i lost all my circuitry links when i lost my last computer so i can't help much more then that ![]() | ||
