Wink Modding RAIDMAX Horizon?

It's official I'm getting the RAIDMAX Horizon black off newegg for $29.99 after rebates, not including S/H!!! So excited since I wanted it before the sale! Thought about getting the NZXT Guardian which is $30 not including S/H but nah ... Here are some preliminary mods I want to do on my case when it gets here:

- Cut a 80mm blowhole on top w/ fan
- Cut a out back two fan holes and replace with custom/wire fan grilles
- Cut out front fan grille and put in wire grill w/ maybe dust filter

Some questions I need answering for since this is both my first build and first mod .

- Is it ok to cut out the back fan with a 3" bi-metal hole saw? I heard sparks will fly and I'll have to wear goggles (duh). Where can I get tips on cleaning the case after cutting?
- I want to make some custom fan grilles but I can't find the template for a blank one + never owned/used a dremel before. Can I just get some rotary tool off eBay or should I invest in a real Dremel?
- Is a dust filter neccessary for the front intake fan? I don't want dustballs all over my case .
- Any other simple mods that you suggest I should attempt? I want to try some simple ones before I actually start getting creative. I'm thinking maybe some cable management, putting another fan in the window, adding some UV/red lighting ... etc. All suggestions welcome!

Thanx guys!

Invest in a real dremel.

Just blow your case out every 3 months and dust wont be a prob.

And when cutting with a holes saw, use oil or else you will wear the blade down.

Why dont you try etching?

Wow, i like that etching idea - do you know where is the best place to get a dremel, (ie prices lower online or at some hardware store?) and when you say use oil with the hole saw, Im assuming you just oil the teeth the hole saw with what kind of oil? b4 cutting?

Just put some oil on the case (and or blade I always do both, but not alot [before cutting]) any oil will do...even cooking oil, but mostly WD40 is used.

Heres a tut by our own Johnny English on cutting blow holes http://guides.pcapex.com/modding/diy:_blowholes.php.

And, Kayin Storms Etching how to:
http://guides.pcapex.com/modding/kay..._technique.php

I have this dremel:http://dremel.com/HTML/home_fr.html

I think most of us have that type and kind of dremel. I dont know how much was paid for it, as I got it for a gift...It was running at around $40 (US) at the time. I think you should Go with a hardware store.

A side note...try not to use "chat" language here..

Thanks a lot of the tips. I was wondering if I should be looking for a multispeed dremel because I've seen dremels for like $35 but are only 1 speed.
