Arrow Blowhole as first mod

Hey guys, I'm just gettin' into this modding business (providing I can actually do any of this). I really want to add a blowhole to a case I'm getting but the guide on modtown.com addressed a issue that gave me some concerns:

I now have to give you a word of caution about cutting holes in your case. Modtown accepts no responsibility for damage caused by electromagnetic interference. All electrical and electronic equipment have to meet certain requirements, cutting a hole in your case can cause your pc to no longer meet these requirements.

Is this a genuine concern I have to worry about? ... ... And jus wondering - what size of drill bit should I use to create the holes for the fan screws?

First of all, welcome to PR.

Not to be rude, but make sure to check out other forum posts before starting a new thread. Resident Uberpimp Jonny English has written a great blowhole guide:
http://guides.pcapex.com/modding/diy:_blowholes.php

If you have any more questions after reading that one, then feel free to ask!

I've never really heard of any serious EM interference issues from full side panel windows, let alone a blowhole.

I wouldn't worry about EMI ... it's almost impossible to buy a cause now without windows and/or holes in it of some description - if all those manufacturers don't worry about it, I certainly wouldn't.

As for screw hole sizes ... drill holes a bit bigger than the screws you want to use. Can't be more specific than that without knowning what screws you're using

Check out http://forums.pcapex.com/showthread.php?t=33429 & http://guides.pcapex.com/modding/diy:_blowholes.php ... might be helpful

edit - looks like Bionic had you covered already

I am not so sure about that. That might be a matter for admin to decide as this IS in the rules:
