Question Bass Beat Throbbing Neon

I was wondering if anyone out there knows of anyway to make my cold-cathode neon throb with the bass beat of my MP3's.

I don't know if there is any way to modify a cold cathode to be sound activated. Maybe Wixx can help you on that one. I imagine there is a way from the little I know about electronics. You can buy a sound activated cold cathode from Xoxide. They run about 40 bucks.

Thumbs up

It's a good Idea, take a look at this:

http://www.bit-tech.net/article/78/

Then take a look at this:

http://www.electronic-circuits-diagr...ghtsckt7.shtml

Then try to put two and two together through the use of this:

http://links.epanorama.net/links/audiocircuits.html#eq
(particularly the low-pass filter)

Hopefully this might help you a bit if you're a do-it yourselfer, major braging rights come with constructing this from scratch

Actually the bit-tech bass throbber is a very well-designed circuit. I would recommend you use that.

not to great with this type of thing but maybe this will give some ideas that others can help you with. maybe get a mini microphone or amplified one and rig that to the light. It might be more sensitive that the other ideas.the amplified ones work really good ,can get theim at radio shaft.also dont remember the cost but auto part stores and target have this type o stuff for all the ricers and the sound box is kind of small.you might look into that also ,hope this helps.
