| I have an idea for an original mod (yeah you can steal it if your a suckassmofo, but this is publicly viewable so youll be flamed like the no-talent loser you are)... at least i think its original, can someone help me out? Ok, cover the inside of a case with that checkered reflective metal paper, you know circle in one square alternating with squares beside it? and hanging from the inside would be a mini disco ball, like you can buy at spencers, and then get some laser leds and beam different color lights off the spinning ball. and of course a custom window (not some generic rectangle window kit from pcmods) to show off the lightshow... anyone seen this done yet? mainly the disco ball thing... if not i wanna make one =D | ||

| LC thanks for the Laugh...I'm sore and tired from going through 13 years of stored **** in a garage tonight and enjoyed your post. Anyone ever find a link to one? Would have liked to seen one done for the hell of it...I didn't notice any links but I could be so tired I missed it. Seems like more and more NoObs here that I need to reign over. Unfortunally I just don't have the time currently...but when I'm able to retrun watch out NoObs. | ||

| Yup, I can see that it would be a first all right Paragon Data Systems, Inc. - Paragon's protective enclosures for computers and bar code equipment are recommended by thermal printer and computer manufacturers to extend the life of the equipment. Enclosures are custom built from ABS and PVC materials and are designed to protect against acid, rust, rain, dust, grease and other hazards of manufacturing environments. .A line of non-corrosive, non-conductive enclosures are built extra tough for extra tough environments and heated and soundproof lines are also available. The enclosures avoid plant safety problems often associated with metallic enclosures, particularly in corrosive and wet environments, because they are non-metallic and non-conductive. All units are manufactured to NEMA 12 standards (dust tight and drip tight) and are designed with the operator in mind. PROJECT NEWS: BIRDS EYE WALLS Armagard has been awarded a £200,000 contract by Birds Eye Walls to protect shopfloor computer systems at three UK locations. The sites - at Lowestoft, Humberside and Gloucester – are being upgraded with the corporate ERP system. The food processing plants undergo frequent washdown and some areas are chilled to –20° C. Armagard is supplying IP66-rated stainless steel enclosures some of which are fitted with specialist heater modules. The heated enclosures undergo rigorous testing inside a freezer room at Armagard’s assembly plant. These are just a couple of excerpts that I found with a quick Yahoo search. ![]() | ||

| There was a disco ball case posted in the gallery a while ago. I can't remember if was the one with the Barbie doing a pole dance inside. I'd post a link, but it's too early in the morning and I'm too lazy to look for it. (Wixx is really onto something something with the caffine machine) | ||

| I tried to post this reply yesterday but I need auth through my proxy server to post here...and the site 'changed places', so-to-speak, breaking my link. Got it fixed yesterday afternoon. Here's the post now, sorry for the delay. The disco ball thing has definitely been done; but I don't think anyone's aimed some high-intensity LEDs at one, though. That could be a cool adaptation of the original idea, and might look pretty sweet with a reflective interior. You could take it a step further and have the different colored LEDs individually powered, so you could switch each color on/off to come up with some interesting lighting combos. And aim a small CPU fan at just enough of the disco ball so it would spin around. Did you think of that? Still, good idea that could be great, if done well. We'd be glad to help out.If it were my case mod idea, I wouldn't have told everyone publicly if I was hoping to keep it a secret. ![]() | ||

| Well, the disco ball is going to be motorized, the laser leds will be pulsing in rythym with my mp3's (assuming I can figure out how to do it, Im a soldering newb) and im hoping to have a strobe light inside as well. All this with a HIGHLY reflective interior. Will be installing an LCD in the front as well for displaying mp3 information. What Id really like to do is put a full color lcd there so i can play music videos on the front while im doing other stuff on my pc, but so far Ive been unable to find a good source for those. The secrets out, and thats ok, Im not THAT concerned if someone else beats me to actually building it. In MY mind it will be my original idea and thats all I really care about. I do have some other projects in mind though that I wont be sharing with anyone until they are completed, and as much as i've told you here, thats not even half of what I have planned for this rig =) We will see once I actually get this beast built though. | ||
