Question Acrylic Case + Drive Bezel Stealthing ?!

I'm getting an acrylic case want to stealth the bezels, somehow! i've thought about silver aluminium plates, as on lian li cases. what do you think to this? thanks

I think the lian li aluminum plates would look fairly good, especially if you go with brushed aluminum trim elsewhere too.

Another idea would be to stealth it with mirrored plexi (with the clear side out and the mirrored side in), using this stealthing method. Or get some mirrored window film from an auto-supply shop and put that on a piece of clear plexi, so it's semi-mirrored -- then it'll look reflective, but still allow the drive activity light to shine through.

Foe is the TRIM MASTA! LOL....Stand your ground man! Don't trim 'em! I haven't! hahahah...just kidding. The brushed alum would probably look good, or to put a spin on the mirrored, you could spray paint the back of thin plexi to make stealth plates, just mask it for the activity lights.

The acrylic and paint sounds like the best option for me. i'll probably get a better idea when the case arrives!

How about using some spare acrylic, and cutting some rectangle bezels of your own?

the automotive mirror film sounds better actually. i'm just worried i'll get bubbles and screw it up. it's cheap enough any way and i can always cut some more acrylic i guess.

r00t says the roller method works well for avoiding bubbles. I haven't tried it yet but it sounds good (my earlier attempts did leave bubbles).

I have buddies here that specialize in vinyl graphics, etc. They swear by this little doo-hickie that looks like a thick putty knife that has no handle. Basically a stiff plastic card with rounded edges. No bubbles, especially if you use a light soap and water mix on the acrylic first. That lets the sticky stuff slide a bit while you're smoothing it out. Smooth it enough and all of the air and moisture will be pushed out.

Think I know what you mean hp07. I've seen it been used on car vinyls. That roller method looks good too. I'll mess about with a few pieces of spare acrylic first and see which method I prefer. Thanx
