Alright guys, after hours of reading here, I have decided to start my first full blown mod. I was tired of waiting and looking today so I ran out to Frys and got an Antec PlusView1000AMG. I have been trying to think up some ideas under the fact that I am a beginner (can handle the Dremel and all fine) with bondo stuff, self wired LEDs, etc. I really love Pug's Hexadragon, so I am going to aim for that, but wiht a few tweaks (and no watercooling, yet) My own ideas are that I could have a fan with a cone on it up front going through the mesh, with it finished nicely on the edges. I might use some honeycomb stuff from an old flourescent light fixture that is basically BIG, plastic modders mesh, on the bottom of the case and light it up. The light would bounce off it very well I suspect because it is in chrome finish. I want to do an LCD, but I don't really have the budget or the skills to wire it all up, so I think I'll just do a prewired VFD or something of the sort. Here is what I have done so far:

No, actually I don't. I really don't have a theme. I was looking at these paints for the frame. I am not sure which one. The heat changing one might be cool for the interior. I'd like to get it professionally painted, but I am not sure how much that would cost for the case and frame together. I am thinking of sort of covering the motherboard with that honeycomb stuff I have. Ill have to get a pic of it. I would use that or mesh. If I could somehow get my stuff painted with some of that paint, then the name "Chameleon" SP??? might be a fitting name.

More ideas...This could be in the top drive bay under a little pop up door. I could have it so I could tilt it up and then pop it down when not needed.

I could do the same thing with a little LCD or w/e really. I am beggining to think going mainly UV with this because I have 2 CCs in my current case and they are cool, but the blue is washed out and they brighten up a basically boring case so I would do UV fans, pci covers, etc. I will need some suggestions when I get to that point on what brand to get, but that is down the road.

First things first... CUT THAT BAR OUT!!! Seriously it'll save you a lot of hassle... Cut it and make sure you grind down the edges so it isnt sharp...

I was going to remove it yesterday, but I held off until today for all cutting. What if I could hide a UV light behind that bar? That would be good. It would be out of the way too. Anything else before I hit the garage? I'll be back after I cut the fan grills and any other little small thing.

OK...I am going to mark some spots to cut holes for wires. I am going to try to run them under the case, and hide as much wire as possible. I am not sure which LCD I should get. I want to get a color one, but they are expensive and I don't know how to wire them all up and the controllers and all. Any reccomendations? And for 80mm fans, what is a good UV reactive fan preferably under 30 db. What are some good UV lights and I am going to sleeve my psu. What is good UV reactive sleeving? Thanks guys.

Yes, it is 3D. It is an old flourescent light cover grill. I have tried to find out where to get more, but I can't. I only have a limited amount but it should be enough. I recently put all my stuff into my the case to mark where I need to cut to hide wires. I am also seeing if any more ideas pop into my head. Could you reccomend my good UV lights, UV reactive sleeving for PSU, good UV reactive molex etc connectors, good EL wire, and good UV reactive fans under 30db (80mm). Thanks guys.

Thanks for the reccomendations...the only thing is that I forgot the mention is that 3 pin would be a lot better. How about this? It is 3pin, good enough specs for me, and the color I need. I am going to probably stick with green most of the time. I am probably going to put actual LED green fans upfront because there won't really be UV light there. How about UV green fans, then blue UV PSU cables? They would probably complement each other. I think I am going to get a new window for the side because I don't like the stock one with the ridges over the fan hole. I was thinking of Vandal switches. What is a good LCD under $100 (blue or green letters with black background)? I am reading reviews, but I am having trouble deciding between Matrix Orbitals and Crystalfontz. I need something easy to setup that looks and works good.

OK. Sweet! Are there any differences with the premium and the 60 dollar ones. I know the difference between LCD and VFD, but what is the difference between the cheap and expensive? The "blue eye" one looks like it has a really smooth looking screen with smooth actions in the video and it looks sharper but maybe it is me...
