| Apex Techie Wannabe | Here, you can see that I cut out a rectangular hole in the side panel. darn it it my jigsaw didn't cut it out straight and perfect. *looks innocent* what? I didn't make the whole crooked. I also learned that plexiglass and sheet metal rivet quite nicely together. I am very happy with how that turned out. on a side note, it's important to make sure you get the correct thickness of plexiglass. in this case, the plexiglass is just a little too thick, and you can see the top divider (the part of the inside of the computer case that separates the power supply from the motherboard housing) actually bows that side panel out a little. I really have to force that panel to go back onto the case. http://www.tethax.com/case/case01.jpg Every computer should have one of these. For simple practicality - it makes carrying the computer MUCH easier. I have a couple strips of metal underneath to help give it extra support. http://www.tethax.com/case/case02.jpg The front - the face slides down when a button on the top is pressed. It's kinda neat. *shrug* I am so not impressed with chrome paint. Next time, I will follow up with an extra coat of transparent sealer/finisher what ever it's called. More on paint when I'm done showing the pictures. http://www.tethax.com/case/case03.jpg http://www.tethax.com/case/case04.jpg And, the back. Nothing too spectacular. Painted the motherboard housing tray white. It slides out. And it's white. http://www.tethax.com/case/case05.jpg What I learned about paint. First - never ever use faux Anodized Paint. It's ghetto. It redefines ghetto. It's like paint, only it sucks. The color of the can top, is nothing like the color of the paint. Enough said. I learned how to wet sand. It's fairly simple. In fact, it's as simple as it sounds. You use water while sanding the paint. I learned, I have to let the paint cure before complaining about it's quality and showing my friends and family how easy it is to peal off with simple effort by my fingernail. *points at all those nicks and blemishes* - as, after about 3 days - the paint cured and was quite hard. I also learned that rubbing compound will be my friend with my next computer case I mod. *nods Overall, I gave myself a B- Any input will be appreciated! ~Teth Last edited by Tethax Firestorm; 01-March-05 at 02:16 PM.. | |

| You put a lot of work into that, you should be proud of the results...just think, it used to be boring and beige, now you smacked it up and made it YOUR hoe! We all have torn out clumps of hair with our paint jobs, it's a rite of passage into pimpdom. Just be sure not to let the hair drop onto that fresh coat of paint. | ||
