Default Typical Newbie Asking Dumb Modding Questions

I wanna find out how to add lights adn **** like that to my motherboard. do i have to solder them onto teh board, ir can i get away with putting them all on a board of their own and running a power conector to it?

what kind of lights are you trying to add? I wouldnt solder anything to the mb use a molex adpter.

what is a molex? i wanna add some LED'S and mabye some little neon lights of some sort

the molex connector is the plug you use to power your hard drives and cd roms. it has a yellow wire +12volts, A red wire +5volts and two black wires that are - ground. most cold cathodes are 12 volts. now as far as leds most are 2-4 volts so you have to use resistors inline so you dont burn them up. Im not the best person to ask about that. Id ask wix for specifics :-)

oooooo i didnt know they call them molex connectors.....i always just called them power connectors.....thanks

You can get 5V LEDs also. Then you don't need the resistors.
