Default motheboard on left side?

i am planning on getting a computer desk with the tower stand on the right side. the only problem with this is that my motherboard tray and window is on the left side. i was wandering if anyone had seen a case with the motherboard tray on the left side, and if so where at?

Lian-Li PC V2000 Silver Aluminium Full-Tower is the first one that comes to mind, otherwise doing it yourself would be far cheaper...couple of guides on the forum to show you what to do....not sure where they are tho...anyone?

They are called BTX cases.... They cool the video card better cause the heat sink is pointed so heat will rise off it. Anyways, im building one so tell me how you like it!

thank you for all of your responses. im kindof leaning towards these two for money reasons http://www.xoxide.com/aerocool-spira...s-case-bs.html, http://www.frozencpu.com/cst-218.html
the only problem is that they are pretty much premods....im trying to think of how they could be modded besides paint (which isnt very creative) any ideas??? Also, would I be able to use an ATX motherboard with these cases?
.

First one looks pretty cool, looks very "industrial" i think if you redid the panel and maybe ducting or selving might give it a little more edge. Second one.... not so hot on the purple CD's clever Idea but its not my style.

I have the Lian-Li PC-V2100B case water cooled and I love it. You will too if you have the $300 it takes to buy it and ship it. You'll feel like you are doing everything wrong until you're done though...lol

Yes, but BTX cases arent "officially" on the market, and ATX solutions dont fit that well into them. We're basically look at an ATX case, but the motherboard plate is on the left side of the case instead of the right, therby flipping the motherboard upside down, with PCI slots at the top, and IO panel/CPU/ RAM at the bottom.

That case would be ungodly sweet, only problem is is that I was hoping to keep costs under $100 or so.

well if it came right down to it, you could get a case and mod it up so that they mobo tray is on the left side!

i know there is a guide , just don't know where it is

Im building one from scratch right now. The epoxy is setting on the veritcal bars as I type this. Its no where near done just the chasis is nearing completion. Crazy demel work is ahead!

If you wanted to "mod" an old case to BTX you'd need to just flip the mobo tray around, assuming you can take off both side panels easily and create a new back panel. Save the little PCI and I/O frame it'll save you a lot of time. Also with a modded ATX to BTX case you need to make sure cables will reach to different places. Thats partically why i got an X-connect PSU...

He could just flip the whole case upside down and mod the front bezel soo it looks right and then move the feet to the topp.

That would work if he doesnt mind having the CD drives on the bottom, or having a bare metal top (most ATX cases dont have anything on the bottom.)

I keep playin around with the idea of cutting mine up and building a different one, my biggest problem there is that i have no sources for doing metal work. My dad and i were brainstorming and thought that we could almost do an acrylic case, but make it out of plexiglass. we would pretty much take square metal tubing, take it someplace to get it welded into a frame, and bolting plexi to it. My only concern is how well will the plexi hold up to having holes cut out of it for fans, drives, and that kind of stuff. I have never seen a plexi case before, so I'm a little skeptical....the old man swears that it will work though.

The tools Im using are:

C-clamps
JB weld epoxy
Hacksaw
Dremel (for panel design)
Level
Square
Caliper
Tape Measure
Miter box

I did use a big sheet metal shear to get the aluminum sheeting cut square. You might be able to find some shop or something that will do this for ya (it only takes like 30sec to cut out all the panels)

If you do make your own or mod a case for all sanity reasons... USE METRIC MM!!!

It'll save you many headaches....
