Cool UV and CC ?? Do they do the same thing?

I have a good start on my first mod and have a couple questions that I cant' seem to figure out with the info from the manufacturers or retail web sites...

What type of lighting do I want to put in for the UV effect? Do all the lighting kits give off UV?

I have a power supply with 2 UV fans and it isn't really having much effect on my UV sensitive cables...any ideas on this or other suggestions on getting the case lit like a New England Rock Consert light show would be taken seriously and appreciated!

you can get UV cold cathode tubes....

Think of CC tubes as neon lights, they come in all sorts of colors, UV being one of them.

UV cold cathodes and blue cold cathodes will make UV sensitive material fluoresce, UV lights being much more effective than blue. Other colors do not work for UV. Black light neons will also make UV stuff glow.

Cold cathodes have the advantage of producing less heat.

Black light neons have the advantage of producing a better glow with less ambient light than UV cathodes. But any neon will produce more heat.

Another option is to use the little UV leds that you can point at an specific object you want to glow. LED's give off very little heat.

UV reactive stuff will still react to a blue cc, just not as well as a real UV cc

This is all good smack! That green sleeving with the blue UV in a black case sounds great...I have a start on the blue lights in a black case...in fact for sound proofing I used black automotive foam undercoating spray all over the inside of my case. (personal pimpin' secret I was planning on revealing with my pics...shhhh keep it on the low down!) I, unfortunately, have blue UV sleeves coming soon and plan on installing them. Green would have been nice!

Thanks everyone for the input...you are helping in the evolution of a "rookie pimp hoe" into a future Master Tech Hoe!

Once Again...Great Smack! Thanks for the input. I will look for some of your keywords when I get around to shopping for the proper lights!
