Default LCD Problem

So in my last topic, I posted about my LCD I had just put in. If you'll notice, the wiring was kinda sloppy so I went to rewire it all. I wired it up again, correctly, and it just wouldn't come on. I can't figure out what's wrong and I need ideas.

EDIT:
LCD = Fixed
Mods can axe this or whatever

Hows about you give us some ideas as well.......

What kind of LCD??
How did you wire it???
What happens if anything????
Whats the specs of your PC????

Link to the other post if it has this info in it.........

At this present time I could only suggest the flux capacitor is leaking thru a defective conkrabulator valve....

Well if it worked before then do what I always do - look real hard at what you changed, it has to be there. I know you said you wired it correctly but borrow a multimeter and test it. Maybe have a friend look it over, there may be something your missing.

Is there some kind of way to test it to make sure its not damaged. Can you wire up just the power wires without the data wires and see if it simply lights up??? If it wont even do that then maybe its got damaged.

I will admit I know nothing about LCDs......good luck.

ok just to test the lcd all you have to do is connect the power, ground, and contrast with a pot. and maby if you have a backlight hook it up too. you should get rows of all black caheacters on the first and third row, do this with out having it connected with the parralle port, just power. if you do not get these lit up rows, then make sure that the pot is turned all the way (fiddle with the pot, usually for mine i have to turn it all the way to one side for the darkest contrast.. also make sure you have the wires connected right. if that dose not work, check you soldering on the power, ground and contrast. you could also test the wires, they may have broken inside the insulation, and you would never know it.if none of this works, then i dont know what to tell you other thany you prolly fried ur lcd

Well thank you members of pimprig. I re did the wiring, again, and made sure all the solders were perfect. It's working now and I don't have to buy a new screen.
