| ya know those biometrics/finger print scanner thingies ? my idea is to mount one inside my case so that only the scanner part is sticking out the top. have you seen those mounted in a case or is this a new idea ? i hope its new ![]() that would be cool to make it so if the finerprint is invalid have it poke you with a needle or give you an electrical shock Last edited by matrixboy; 21-August-02 at 09:47 PM.. | ||

Really?!?!? That will be amazing, wont have to worry much about car theive.. why not go all out and do retinal recognition instead of finger prints, more secure Iris recognition at Tigerdirect.com for only 179$ Hey just an idea! | actually, i was thinking about making it fingerprint to get in (door locks) and voice recognition to start, but retal sounds interresting too. i didn't realize it was so "cheap." is that a self-contained unit or does it need to link into a database to compare against? | ||

| That is rediculously cool. I am proud of you guys for even thinking about it, but are you seriously that worried that someone might go onto your computer and look at some of your information. Because why else would you need one of the retinal scanners or fingerprint scanners? Cool anyway. Goodwork! | ||

| Apex Techie Wannabe | It would really suck if you had a windows Based PDA.... You call ur wife.. Honey, my PDA crashed, and I can't get home.. can you come out and bring my backup PDA? Fingerprints wouldn't be cool, because if some one really wanted to get into your computer, they could just cut your finger off... eye examination sounds cool, for a car or for a computer, but I can't see myself sticking my eye upto my car to get in, or up to my computer to turn it on / login | |

| Senor Cisner-Hoes | Actually those finger print things are lots of fun.. Especially good in laptops where a pcmcia card and thet part that scans your finger pops out.. Ive got one that i use on my laptop. an ethentica ethinticator. it is very slick. the desktop version is a little more clunky ( and you have to mail your old copy of Secure Suite to the company to get the version that works with XP That is of course unless you get the product with drivers for XP.On another note:hey i got a windows based PDA!! an iPaq!! There is nothing wrong with it brandon | |
