Default Worthy of Modding?

Is this case worthy of modding? I was thinking of buying it as I have always liked the way MAC cases look, and I really like that cube. Just wanna hear your guys thoughts....

Anyone know what form factor this thing is?

Well my real question would be where the hell is all the I/O ports? And how hard would it be to put a ATX mobo in it?

It is a decent looking case, but I will warn you up front, you will NEED to cut into it for better airflow as the stock ventilation is teh suxorz

I thought the MAC cases especially the cube and G5 were supposed to have really efficent airflow? I will probably use H20 in it anyway.

I have never used one personally but have seen 3 of them lock up (yes, even with OS X..... OS 9.2 or earlier wasn't as much of a surprise) in the middle of video mixing at parties.
2 out of the 3 parties were in the middle of winter in Iowa too so it wasn't the ambient temp.

I think the cube was fanless. G*X towers were average but didn't need too much anyway, its only the G5 cases that have the super cooling.

EDIT:

i think the ports are in the bottom, and i dont think you'd be able to fit a normal board in it, but an ITX board would probably fit. Run windows or linux on that with a MacOS skin.

I found some info here for you....no PCI ports and disapates the heat through convection.

Tiny, too.

I think it could be done, you aren't going to be able to do anything until you get the case and get the measurements and stuff. Im sure it wont just snap right in, and you will probably have to make your own mobo tray, but other than that, i dont really see what it would be too hard to do. I have never seen a cube up close, so I don't really know how big they are, but I still think it wouldn't be too hard to do.

And I have heard that most Macs have ****ty airflow, so I would also recomemend some slots with a dremel tool or something, or water cooled. Hell, Go for a micro-refridgerator inside the thing.

First of all, the obvious. You can mod anything. Second. In order to put an ATX board in there you would have to mod the mounting plate. Plus you would have to put it in backwards.

And yes, the Macs have good airflow.

Well I talked to some people and did some research, the cube has NO airflow, they use convection to disipate heat inside the vube. And it sounds like to much trouble for what its worth ATM. But the seller is going to have a site soon with a bunch of cubes so maybe I will get one when he gets his site up.

A friend of mine has one too.... he's planning on packing a mini-itx system in it. I'd get the dimensions and ask WordBiker.... he's da man with shoe-horn.... it's amazing how much crap he can pack in his..... errrr..... well, he's good in tight spaces..... oh forget it.... talk to WordBiker, especially if you're thinkin' about crammin' water cooling in there too.

Yeah, with a cube that small you'd have to go mini-ITX. Fortunately, you don't have to settle for a 1GHz Via....you can put an 800MHz FSB socket 478 P4C in there:
