| Howdy Pimps and Pimpettes: I found this on another forum I doodle around in, thought you might like a diiferent take on the "Deskmod" idea... Dude put a lot of work into this one, might give you some ideas... http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?t=353649 Carry On, I'll be around all day... ![]() | ||

| One of my desks is very similar to that one but I would rather use the cases I have now. With exception to the cases I got from aaronkelly, none of mine were originally designed for PCs so they require modification anyway. Props to the guy though for going through with it. | ||

| I like the looks of it (with the exception to the lack of wire management inside) but he did take his time on the outside making it look nice. This is something that you would do for your dad but for a modder, it does limit you quite a bit. For example, what happens when you change out mobos? Install a new hard drive? Seems like you'd have to take the whole top of the desk off just to get to the pc. Rob | ||

| I agree that the inside wire management and "ease of repair/replace" didn't impress me, really, but the step-away shot, showing the clean lines of the desk, speakers, that struck me as very nice and clean... My comment in that thread was something to do with him probably not going to LANs very much | ||

| although i think that desk was fugly, i do like the idea, maybe with a better looking desk. alos, a year or so ago there was that guy who did taht aluminum desk, with everything built in, he even snagged a chair from a car and hooked it up with some wheels, it was pretty sweet, i'll see if i can dig it up.... EDIT found it, but all the pics are dead http://forums.pcapex.com/showthread.php?t=7242 EDIT EDIT aha! he posted in the gallery http://gallery.pcapex.com/showgaller...r=2099&thumb=1 Last edited by floatingtrem; 05-December-04 at 07:17 PM.. | ||

Yes, but the gallery pic does not do that project justice. I really liked how he mounted his rear surround speakers to the headrest of the chair, but then I am an audio freak so that is to be expected. That is still one of my favorite projects to this day...... second to mnpctechguy's The Wall project, of course. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
