That Weathered Space Metal Effect...

Just how does he get that weathered-space-metal effect? I was hoping someone could shed light on how this is acheived? I've traipsed around various sites looking for this kind of modding advice and it just isn't there... do I just coat stuff with body filler?

Dry brushing...or air brushing perhaps. You could always send an e-mail to the owner of the site

looks like a hobby-shop deal to me... prolly paint used for WH40k figures or something... drop by one and check it out...

I've seen people get that sort of effect by gluing millitary vehicle model kit parts to the case and then filling in the spaces with bondo and contouring it toward your look. Take a look at that xbox mod, they did something similar. I'll get the linkage in a second.

That XBOX link is quite useful - but what's bondo?

I'll have a look and see what kits I can get on ebay and might see if I can't email that bestcasescenario guy.
