| Apex Techie Wannabe | Hello everyone, my name is Jeannie and I'm new to the forums and somewhat new to modding. Then again, I always hope to be new to modding because it means I'm doing something original each time. I just completed my latest mod and I have to say that it feels good to frag corporate America beige < Example: I just did a racing car mod (cobalt blue, white racing stripes) - BUT I added a hood ornament, drilled holes in the side of the case to make a cool diffracting pattern, and made sure that the window shape was non-objective BUT I NEED ADVICE I want to add a car door handle to the side of the case that doesn't have a window cut into it - any advice for how I should go about this? or do any of you have any ideas for how to expand this mod? - PandorasMod | |

| well i guess i would start at my local auto parts store and find a door handle that i like and buy it, and the mounting hard ware. may be add a top blow hole with a small air filter over it , you know the small ones that you would use for a carb. and may be some auto guages too... | ||

| PandorasMod certainly makes a favorable first impression! For a door-handle mod, what would be ultra-cool is to go to an auto wrecker's and pick up a nice, chrome handle for a couple bucks, like those you'd find on a, say, Dodge Charger :p . You'd only need to drill 3 holes to mount it, and one bigger hole for where the thumb-button is, and a spring so when it's pressed in, it does something on the inside of the case panel (i.e. unlatch the side panel, or perhaps the thumb-button could be your Power switch). To do the latter, you'd only have to re-route the case's front power switch assembly from the front to the side panel...with the minor problem of having the wiring hanging there all the time when you remove the panel. Did you see my hot-rod case project, PandorasMod? Check out my under-construction, on-the-backburner project , here. I'm currently working on something else, totally different, but it's about a month away from completion. It'll rock some socks off. ![]() | ||

Looking very good Coel. That case is deffinately gonna ****ing rock. I hope you paint it green and white like the one in the driveway. That would be so much differnt from the blue blahh. Listen to me all my PC's are blue and I hate it. Someone set me free hahahahaha. Any updates on the location of that Fan over the headers?

Yeah I was kind of hoping that there would be no fan . The sink parts make great header pipes and I hate to see that get all nasty looking and adding a big fan.

| Apex Techie Wannabe | Coelacanth, I LOVE your muscle car mod - very sexcellent. Oh, and thanks for the great idea about rerouting the case's front power switch to the thumb button (damn it, another day of being a social recluse and working on my case). I went on e-bay and found a great Jaguar hood ornament to replace the very generic one I currently have. Oh, and Coel - you like Robert Frost? I'm actually going to Northwestern for journalism and writing - I love Robert Frost (you should hear him read his poetry). Too bad there's not a minor in case modding . . . Scapegoat, great idea about the keyless entry!!! now i need to devise a creative way to make that work. Oh, and everyone, thanks for not being sexist pigs about a girl being on the forums. | |

| Hehe, good thing you registered after DigitalDevil took a hike... Myself, I think the more women that get into modding, the better; because they have different ideas and points-of-view that can bring a breath of fresh air to what can sometimes be too much "been there, done that". One of the cooler case designs is the one with the fairy/dragon on it, done by another woman. I think it was called "Princess" or something.I don't mind a good poem or two, I've read some R. Frost--but I love that quote, in particular. It's kinda the way I live my life, not just mod my case. Not to say that modding cases is my life, of course! One experiences a lot more in life when they take the scenic route instead of the freeway ('highway' for you Americans, hehe! :p ). How long have you been 'into computers', and what made you get interested in case modding? | ||
