Wooden Case???

How yall doin.
i had this idea to make a case out of wood that i got from a broken computer desk.
any way i jus wanted to see what people think and give me some ideas about the advantage and disadvatages of it. (will be painted!)

It has been done before, but the main consideration you need to look out for is that wood is an insulating material. If you do not vent it properly heat will build up. Also for you to worry about is gounding of the mobo. Since cases are generally metal, if you mount the mobo directly to wood, it may not ground properly.

Yes ur right but no i have thought of the mobo and i dont think i will mount it directly to the wood , infact i want to put fans behind the mobo. and if you could show me where i can find example of how they done it please put a link for more ideas thx

This idea is good but what type of wood is it. The type of wood you use will give you different looks for your case. I thought about doing one in ceader with just a gloss coat that way I get a nice & costly look out of my case. But it ain't cheap!

I do not like this idea for it is highly flammable.

But it still seems pretty cool.

Check the gallery - I think the guy's handle was anyhow. He did some GORGEGOUS work in wood.
