| I've got a new case coming my way, It's a COOLTEK AGGRESSOR. Figured I'll put in all my "old stuff", but i need something to really make it my own case. I'm not familiar with photoshop, so I can't really make pics with an other colour. Anyway here's a picture of it... would like some input on what you guys think Btw, the pricetag on this case is 75 euro's 1- I'll remove the alien from the front-door, and make it flush 2- Probably a blue uv-reactive top-window, or a mirrored one | ||

| Could be a bit tricky to get the paint to match after making the alien area flush, but at least you're working with gloss black and not an impossible-to-match green or something. A top window looks like it may be one of the few "big" mods you could do to such a case. Could be a pretty cool mod if you shaped the window to go with the case theme. Maybe using a black tint would match well too. Good luck! | ||

| I just thought of something else, I'm going to paint the inside also, and maybe make the case another colour. I'll have to repaint it anyway, because of the flushing and the topwindow. The meshing is removable by the way. It's like an EMI shielding, don't really need it I think I don't kow if I'm going to stealth the drives, since I don't know what material the covers are made of, and since the case has a door, it's really not necessary. I am thinking motorised door, anyone got tips? I think it'll be done by using a cd-rom motor thingy Last edited by Terence; 08-November-04 at 10:36 AM.. | ||

I like the front the way it is, mirror-finish. And the window can't be made any bigger because of the "wing" on it. The wing is actually drilled then glued to the window, so no luck there. Still good ideas

| I don't want to seem like an asshat, but use the Edit button instead of posting two-three consecutive times. What you're doing now is not PR forum etiquette. Also, why not browse through the gallery? There are zillions! of modded cases in there and I'm pretty sure you can find something nice in there. And, asking us wont get you anywhere, using someone elses idea is not using your own idea and it wont really be your own work. Whip out some paper and start thinking about it. | ||

| That lower chunk of metal, below the fan in the mesh, is just begging for a fan... ...the alien head has to go... ....I'm assuming the wing is also continued onto the motherboard-side panel... perhaps, cut a window that goes around the wing's edges and across the panel (like your standard rectangle, cept curving for the wing), put some mirrored window tint (or just really dark tint) and backlight it with blue LED's (cause the cathodes are too light, generally, in color) Other than that.. not terribly much to do, cause of the over-the-top face and wings they stuck on it... at least, much to do that I can think of. | ||

| I don't think putting UV LEDs in the front would be too useful. The main purpose of UV is to cause UV-reactive stuff to glow. It doesn't output a lot of light. The reason why people don't have many ideas for modding this case, is that it's physically already quite busy--as it's premodded. People generally choose a case like this because they already LIKE the design--for the most part, anyway. If you started with a plain-Jane case, the possibilities are endless; but with a specific design like this, you end up having to work AROUND the design, rather than create your own. If you go with this case, then focus your mods internally. Paint the inside chassis, sleeve the PSU, do something with interesting lighting. The ninja star, while a cool idea by itself, doesn't seem to make much sense with this particular case's premodded design. I might mod the "eyes"; use the 2 existing LEDs for "power on", and mod in 2 more LEDs that are hooked up to your HD activity header, perhaps red ones...when the HD is active, the eyes will flicker in a different color. | ||

| The star fit in with the oriental/dragon theme. I thought that instead of modding by cutting away, he could mod by costuming, or building onto the surface. Alien becomes dragon, door becomes anchient temple in a forest. He's not into "kung foo" tho... As for internal mods, be the first to maglev your pump. And prepare for the "It will erase your hard drive! No it won't!" flame war. ![]() | ||

There is an hdd activity meter in it, in the V shape, in the alienhead. I"m not sure if i can make the eyes in front of the case hdd lights(help anyone). And next weekend I'm going to paint the inside, or I might polish it, dunno yet. My psu is already sleeved, and I've got watercooling going on inside. I've gotten rid of the mesh behind the window, because it was ugly anyway. The case has a major problem though----> front ventilation is sealed by the front, I'm thinking about losing the teeth, replacing the power/reset button to a 3,5 inch bay, along with the front usb and audio connectors, and make it meshed in front, for the airflow....
