| I came across a Really old AT case in a garage and it was given to me ... Its really a nice looking case but the fact thats its an AT is kinda a hurdle I was not prpared for anyway I was looking for some suggestions on how to go about modding it to accept a ATX Mobo... It had a HUGE PSU in it and What I was already planning is getting a piece of similar metal and just cutting the back out in a larger uniform rectangle where the odd shapped PSU was and riveting the new panel (cut for an ATX PSU) over this area.. but the actual board area is the main problem... I also need to know a good place to get the Mobo stand-off's as this thing was put together useing them plastic push peg things... I am basically going to make this my wam bam project as its not going to be a loose if I screw up and If I can make this work and look good I will be rather proud of myself... I will get some pics of it in the next few days... Oh.. Also the from panel has a 3 digit readout for what I imagine was the PC speed? anyway I was wondering if there was anything I can do with that to make it functional and not somthing I will just have to replace (because I kinda like it) .... | ||

| Apex Techie Wannabe | 3-digit LCD... I have one, too, but it comes with a small chip plus a 24-pin ribbon cable. I got it from an old AT-case ('LEO' ?!?!) and now I'm using it on a new ATX case. So, I managed to light it up (connecting the 'chip' to +5V), and through the jumpers on it I made it show what I want! So, if U are interested, I'll draw you a scheme how to use the 3-digit readout. It's NOT UNUSABLE! Last edited by GUI; 11-June-05 at 08:13 AM.. | |

I mounted it in a 5.25'' front panel 'n' I think it's still great (well, maybe it looks great only to me) The problem is that there's no LPT interface for me to make it read out the temp... Just many, many jumpers which display always the same (I mean, it can't be changed by software). Thanks for the welcome, though ![]()

oh i know that, you would have to unsolder the displays, and then follow the instructions on the link i posted, which uses the displays with the lpt port, and a little driver software, to take the readings from MBM and out put them to the display.

Oh, ya, first I read '7-digit', not 7 segment, and that's why I gave up... THANKS A LOT!!!
