Rounded IDE Cables

This is something I have been considering since I hooked up the computer. First of all, how much do they cost, second of all do they have anything that would react or glimmer with a blue cathode? Or is it just a round cable? If you guys know of any good sites I could check that would be cool too.

you can get rounded cables from just about anywhere now adays.....

They also carry some glow in the dark rounded cable......(add if im not mistaken they are one of PR's sponsers..so be sure to click on the link if you see it that way PR gets credit- if your decide to purchase them from there, that is)

EDIT- just hit refresh in the forums page a couple time and it should show up

Also check out Case-mod . They sell rounded IDE cables for about $3-6. As for the glimmer, you'd need a UV light and UV sensitive cables. With blue, everything in the case will have a hue of blue over it.

Heh, I found some really cool stuff that I'll use to make my own rounded IDE cables, but I'm showcasing it with my current project--so no hints (I want to surprise people). One of my 'items' looks a lot like steel-braided sleeving. Can't wait to get the case completed so I can install the hardware. The interior of this thing is gonna look very different!

You could do what i did,and that is make your own with good ol' electric tape and some split loom from pep boys. an article to make your own is here

Just a thaught....if you get a Clear set of cables and run some EL inside wonder how that would look? There would be no need for Black Light. Anyone done this yet?

Go to the plumbing section in any hardware department store, or to a pet store that sells aquarium supplies, and buy some clear tubing in the appropriate diameter. Slit it along one side, fold up your IDE cables/power wires, insert 'em along with Glo-Wire, and...BINGO. You got what that other company was advertising, for probably 1/3 of the price.

Thanks for all of your help guys. I think that will work just nicely. I think I will do it myself makes my case that much more custom, and I respect that, I hope everyone else does too.

Rest assured, doing it yourself (DIY) will always earn you respect here. And, you'll probably save money, not to mention you'll end up with something that looks just a little bit different (and sometimes, even more []D [] []V[] []D ) than the stuff that's mass-produced by the case-mod vendors.
