nice start fuelman

Few questions, whats up with the molding? Doesnt look like it goes around the corners.

You could route the cables a bit more effeciantly, that case has ample room, a few hours into routing cables will work wonders

I dont know if it is just your camera or not, but the lighting looks uneven, a second CC up top maybe would balance out the light sommore

What else ya go planed for the rig?

Besides the obvious paint your case issue, you kind of messed up the window molding. It should be one strip with no noticable breaks.

Also, you should be able to re-route the cables so that you don't have so much hanging over the mobo. Also, get rid of the Bio symbol on top. Way overdone and has almost become a cheesy joke. The red light looks pretty bright, but you may want to put another on top.

A case is never done.

truth...its not even a cc, its a car taillight i got at wal mart for 5 bucks, the molding i got sux as$ and kinks when put into corners, as far as cabling, believe me, compared to what it was, how it looks now is a miracle...and i actually kinda want to see the cables anyway...they hide my crap CPU...

ill probably just pull the molding off anyway, it isnt doing anything good for the case and i can think of a million other places i can use it (maybee the edges of pci cards and grafx, and other sharp edges)

the sticker has been there for about a year and a half...

it may look unfinished and whatnot, but it was done by hand so wo0t...

thanx for the opinions scapegoat and BA

every little bit helps...

as far as what i got planned for it....painting it jet black for one, gonna do the same thing to my drives too, not to make it look nice or anything but i just got this thing for red and black and would like my case to be just that...oh, and yank that dumb ass sticker off of it...

gonna dremel out a front air intake for two 3.5" fans with just regular old grills, gonna paint the PSU black and the interior red, eventually get two REAL cc's (red) and some molding that will work...

i got a ton of stuff coming day after tomorrow so i will put it in, maybe do a quick spray paint of the case and snap a few more shots...

thanx for the input

Bull****! Here's what I want you to do. Go down to your local auto parts dealer and pick up some door chrome molding. Use that for the edge, you will be able to run one strip all the way around for about $9.

Second, clean up your cables, it is too easy to use zip strips to pull cables out of the way.

Third, get your self 2 cans of spraypaint in your favorite color. Pull the equipment and have a blast. There is no need to hit the high quality result like insomniac gets, just make it the color you like. Later on you can shoot for the stars.

Fueldude, you have been a reg on our forums for a while now. I like you, you have a sick sense of humor that I can relate to. Do not think that because you are not running the latest and greatest hardware that you can't pimp your case. I for one don't really give a crap about what's inside, it is the personality of the case that counts.

You can do it gasman, give it a shot.

EDIT: I posted this while you posted your comments above. Go for the gold bro, it don't matter what kind of components you run, what matters is what you do with it and how it looks.

...everything i have done to my case has been
directly inspired from my exposure to this site and its members...and im so hooked now its not even laughable...so please keep doing whatever yer doin staff and members...

the upside of automotive lights is that they are 12 volts....and bright as hell...

downside...they...get...HOT, and WILL add ~5-10 degrees (farenheit) to your ambient temp's...so put fans close to them...

also, decided to chop up some more molding just to see if i could save what i had done, and i think this looks passable, what do you think?

I dig the coners of the case now!

Also check out http://www.casewraps.com/. It's a slick way to change your case quickly and without painting it!

does anyone know if this metallic-looking molding is conductive? i dont wanna try anything that might be harmful to my 1337 455 hardware, lol

i tap on it with a set of pliers, and it doesent make that *tink* sound, and it doesent get cold quickly, and it feels like plastic...

Looks like your on the right track here.

Hell, one of our best, Coel, used red tail lights in his Gargoyle case, nuthing wrong with it at all.

Not sure about the molding. Maybe let it ride till you get the case apinted, if you clean up the window cut, then after painting, you may find it looks great with no molding at all.

Agree with lc, or if you do need molding find something a little more pliable that will get around corners without having to be cut. I love chrome molding on windows, but you need to keep it in one piece.
