| Okay, so I got the Antec True Blue 480 Power Supply, and they were kind enough to wire loom the motherboard cord all nice and neat. I'm having problems looming the HD cords, etc., without tearing up the loom in the process. Is there a trick to feed the power cords through without tearing up the loom, and making the plugs go thru with ease? ![]() | ||

| If you're using expandable sleeving, you have to remove the connectors from the housing. Radio Shack has a tool for this that looks kind of like a syringe. I would mark one of the gound wires before taking them apart at the connector and at the power supply so they don't get mixed up. Use some tape to bind the connector together so they go through the sleeving more easily. | ||

| with expandable loom the easiest thing to do is this.first, remove the plug, then start the wires into it.after the wires are started, hold the loom and the wires and push the loom so it bunches up.then grip the loom and connectors and release the other end.this lets the loom feed itself down the wires and keeps the connectors from snagging. i just did my new power supply last night and used 3/8 woven loom on the atx connector with no problems. | I didn't know they made a tool to remove molex connectors...thanks hojo. I'll have to make a trip to Radio Shack before my new PSU gets here. Beats using a jewelers screwdriver. Another little trick G Money. Once you've removed the molex connectors. Wrap the metal plugs in masking tape to prevent any snagging. | ||

| when i did my cables it took a while to figure out how to get the wires through. it takes time and manipulation of the cables. i alos removed the molex connectors with a pin pusher. it would have gone faster if i had the idea to insert a tube that way the pins wouldnt get caught in the braid. i also learned that the enermax pins are gold plated. quality. see my heat shrinked ends. | ||

| Lokie's Personal WU-Hoe | I am putting expandable sleeving on my PSU, and I have the molex connectors done. Very easy to remove the molex connectors with a small screw driver, I think a little child could do it. I also heatshrinked the cables at the ends, I heatshrinked the back half of the end of the plastic molex connector, unlike carbongraphite who heatshrinked just the wires. I did the molex with 1/4" expandable sleeving, and then the 12V strand with 1/2". I have an Enermax 431W Whisper Switching PSU without the switch on the back. I am stuck on doing the AUX connector and the other cable that goes directly to the mobo w/ 20+ wires. How do I take those connectors off!!?? | |

| The hard way is to meticulously mark what goes where ........ take it all apart ........ thread the wires through the sleeving ...... and meticulously put it all together. Otherwise, you could use spiral wrap or split loom on the ATX bundle. That is way easier, but a little less pimp! Here is my PSU done entirely with spiral wrap: Spiral wrap can be had in many colors, what color is the braid you used on the other cables? | ||

| Lokie's Personal WU-Hoe | I used mylar sleeving. I wrapped my cables in duct tape before hand so you can't see the wires through the mylar sleeving. But otherwise I was wondering HOW TO TAKE THE WIRES OUT OF THE PLASTIC connector housing. I have no clue how to take the connectors out of the AUX, but the ATX bundle it looks like you would have to use one of those syringe tools since it looks like a smaller molex connector is used to keep the wires in. | |

| I just went out and bought the pin remover at Radio Shack provided by the link above. It works like a charm, removing pins takes a few seconds. Just make sure you mark what goes where when reinstalling them ![]() Radio Shack does have some nifty electrical tools. They also have a pin remove for VGA cables. | ||
