| Apex Techie Lite | I just got done installing my top mount window with 92mm blue LED fan. Only one thing I'm not satisfied about...and I knew it would be something I'd have to fix. The power supply. It's way too close to the window for my likeing...what could I do with it? I can't move it...but I've though about different PSU covers...but there must be something I'm not coming up with. As you can see in the picture, there is a little dark line near the bottm (closer to the front of the case) which is part of the drive cage...I'll find a way to get rid of that sometime. The huge dark spot in the back is the PSU blocking the LED light. My goal is to get light over there...but I'm not sure how to do it. Any helpful comments would be appreciated...thanks. | |

| OK, you might be a prime candidate for this. At the top of the Nav bar, click on the Sponsors tab and go to FrozenCPU.com. They have some Plexi PSU housings that work with some PSUs. If yours will work, then you can mod the PSU, and add a Blue LED that will iluminate the internals and it will allow the CC light to pass through the area better. Another idea is to take a different approach entirely. Take a look at what Coel did with the side of his Gargoyle Case. You could work up a design for a "spaced" cover that would be shaped too cover the rear of the window and extend toward the front in some way so you can hide the back area without detracting from the rest. Just a thought ![]() | ||

| Does the PSU mount in the very top rear of the case, or is it a Full tower and have a few inchs of space above ? If there is some good space above, then you would only have to drill one small hole in the case to make it flip. If not, then don't bother, but you could also cover the top of the PSU with some material, paint it, maybe some Corbon Fiber sheeting glued to it ? | ||

| Apex Techie Lite | Yeah...I think I'll try drilling hole. I'll have to look at it again to make sure it'll work. My only other concern for flipping it over is airflow. I have an 80mm intake in the front and two in the back. I also have one 80mm exhaust on the side and a 92mm exhaust on the top window. If the intake fan on the PSU was on top, it would be pulling air from the top exhaust fan. I guess I'll just have to play with it some. I'll need to measure the space inside the PSU for the fan too because the current fan is 80mm...and those mods have 92mm holes. I'll have to make sure too that the covers will fit my PSU. It's a 400W Allied unit...just in case you or someone else who reads this knows if that'll work :-) Thanks for the other suggestions. I'll keep those in mind. I found a little fix for that support bar in the front too...I put a mirror under it so the light reflects better through there. Take it easy. | |
