Default Soyo Dragon KT400 or ASUS nForce2?

Ok, I'm in a jam. I was going to get nForce2 because of the performance it had, but KT400 has caught up to it recently. So now it's down to what the MB offers. The 1) Soyo offers RAID (which I'll use), nice overclocking ability, and the nice looks . And the 2) ASUS offers dual DDR, and the reliability. What should I get? I'm also putting the XP 2700+ or 2800+ if that makes a difference.

Personally, I go for function over form, so translate that here is performance over frilly doo-dads. But if you're going to use frilly doo-dads (ie. Raid) then by all means go Soyo...

My prefrence is with an Asus w/ an add-in RAID card, if I had to choose.

well i have the kt-400soyo board, the newest bios for that board screws up the raid controller so i had to revert to the revision 3 bios so i could use the rain function. i am running a 2700 xp chip with it and ddr 400 ram. i have not had any problems yet and the board seems stable. i cant comment on the asus board as i have not use one yet.

I have the Soyo KT400 and like it a lot, but would rather be playing with the nForce2 board.

I have the A7N8x-Deluxe it runs stable as a rock and the ddr 400 works, but right now i'm in ddr333 with a 333 FSB on my 1700+ which didn't need to be unlocked the bois let me change the multiplier without unlocking.

I got the Asus Nforce. The thing is I'm still waiting on my other parts to come in. I got 3/4 of everything though. All I know is that the ASUS Nforce2 has a cool box, clean parts inside the box, the box is cool as I said. The manual that comes with it is shiny and smells good. And it has lots of cool features. Dunno if this is something common in most motherboards, but it comes with loads of software, one of which acts as Systemax/Norton Online Update for it's virus software. Meaning whenever updated BIOS are released, it asks you automatically like windows XP update if you want to install them. Pretty cool eh? ^_^

I like the name too, but you'll have to wait till next week before this N00B gets his hands on the nitty gritty performance of this cool mobo, with a pretty box. Did I mention I liked the box?

Bigakita, I apologized 3 times for the incident awhile back. But the site went down and I noticed the post was deleted and I dont' know if the other 2 PM's reached yeah.

The nforce2 board. I've got a Dragon KT333, for the most part it performs as well as the 400. I like my A7N8X deluxe much better. It's more stable, faster in a default config than the KT400's yet still overclocks very well and it has the best onboard sound I've heard yet. The only advantage I can see that the dragon would have would be the ability to run a IDE connector raid set-up. The raid chip on the A7N8X deluxe board is serial ATA. You would need an adapter for IDE drives. Or wait for serial ATA drives to come out. Other than that, go nforce2. The dragon does have really spiffy black or silver pcb's though. But then, so does Chaintech's nforce2. You usually can't go wrong with Asus though.

Right now I have the KT333 Dragon Platinum thing-a-ma-jig from SOYO and i like it, I get 11,000+ 3D Marks and 100 FPS steady in my game of choice at the moment (BF 1942) *remember 100 FPS is the max in 1942* So im happy. Although, when I upgrade after my first of the year bonus and property taxes are paid, Im gonna get an ASUS nForce2 board. No doubt. That, plus an Athlon 2800. shieeeet, I cant wait! Then, couple months after that, new GeForce FX, and then I wont ever upgrade again.

riiight..

but wait! Should I wait for the new Athlon 64? oh the DILEMAS!!!

No hyphen in nForce and no space before the 2.
It's Radeon, not Radion.
What's a Giger? Is that a radiation detector?

My bitch may not be as high speed as your whore (no offense BZA), but I can spell the parts that went into her correctly.

Hmm, might be hope for you yet, you do have an extremely nice setup in your rig. I just need to know....where can I get a Giger Drive?

A lot of folks here are looking at the nForce2 right now, it would be appreciated if you could post some Sandra benchmarks.
