| Apex Techie Lite | I'm going to put a 92mm fan on the top of my case. I will cut a simple pattern in the case-top to function as a grill, rather than using an actual grill. I want to do this to keep the top of the case flat (no bumps or raised areas). To keep it "flat" though...I need to find another way to mount the fan inside than screwing it to the top of the case. How could I mount the 92mm fan to the the top of my case without putting screws through it? (I've thought about super glue...but I'd much rather find a way that i can move it if i have to or something more flexible. Any suggestions will be helpful...and if you need more info. from me, just ask. Thanks all. | |

| Buzz is right, about the only way i can think of to attach a fan would be to use some type of adhesive, of course with an adheasive, you will have to worry about it eventurlly where off due to the vibration and falling. If you case is think enough you could think about recessing the screws and then use flan top screws, maybe | ||

| yes that's exactly how i did my blow holes. be sure to clean the area where your bolts will sit with acetone or something of that nature. after the bolts have been epxied and are firm i went ahead and put goop(silicone) where the base of the bolt meets the top of the case for extra measure. it hold real well , i can pick the top piece of the case by the bolts and they won't come loose | ||

| Plumber's Goop. Very strong adhesive ........ yet dries flexible (almost like silicon ......... but way stronger adhesive). When you want to take it a part you just get it started and peel it off like grout from tile. I have never used it to mount fans, but was planning to in my next rig. | ||

| 3M heavy duty double sided adhesive tape. Comes in either clear or grey color and located in Home depot's painter supply section VERY strong and isnt a bitch if you ever have to remove it. Ive used it for custom case windows, grills and other misc mods for over a year without any complaints. Speaking of top blowholes, heres one I finished for a current project. ![]() | ||

| MNPC Tech thats freaking sweet. And once I get my computer back up and running I should find a time to meet you and I can drop it off and we can run by a couple of things because I would like to have your opinion on a couple of mods. I like your taste. Either way, I would personally use hot glue, it can be as plyable as you like but it is really easy to remove and stays really hard if need be. Good luck and let us know what you decide on | ||
