| Senor Cisner-Hoes | im a new member to PR but ive been readin the forums for many months but this is the first time that i felt a need to post. recently, i bought a sweet comp (1.8 ghz p4, 512 mb RDRAM, 40 gig hd and some POS premod case) for like 150 bucks. it was a great deal from a friend who needed money. anyway, i found an old Navy computer at a swap meet for like 20 bucks. the comp was a piece of crap, but it was vintage and i thought it would be worth the money. however, the front panel had a sweet layout. it had a pad (similar to that of a calculator) on the front and a smallish LCD display and a number of metalic switches with white covers on the front complete with activation LIGHT BULBS (not even leds) and even a rheostat. in addition to that, there was a locking acrylic cover and holes for important switches. i will post pics later when i can find a digital camera to borow my question was would making this into a control panel for my computer be a good mod? i have already diagrammed all of the circuits for the back and it is easily possible. the rheostat can control multiple devices hence multiple fans, and the number of switches would be great for turning on the computer, fans and accent lighting. pics will come soon! | First Welcome to PR, and yes you have a great idea and would love to see a pic and your diagram. Update when you can. You posted and your idea and had the brains to think before you posted and you did a good job. This statement was uncalled for and can get you in more hot water then if you posted without it.
If a NoOb posts some lame ass thing and they deserve to get "Flamed" then so be it! If you've been around a while, then you'd know that yes it's intimidating to post, however if you think before you post, you have nothing to worry about. | |||||||||||||||||||||
