| Apex Techie Wannabe | I'm modding a new case with front USB and 1394 jacks... http://www.chieftec.com/products/Workcolor/Dragon.htm My motherboard... http://www.msi.com.tw/program/produc...il.php?UID=496 ...has a connecter for the front USB jacks but I can't see a connector for front 1394 jacks. Is there a way to use the rear jacks in the front? | |

Look harder, check the manual, i really doubt a board like that lacks a pinset for a 1395 header.

Without something like what I linked you to, you are not going to be able to have firewire up front using your onboard 1394 FireWire controller... If you could get a firewire port wiring diagram, and find out the correct colors for each wire, then you could make your own custom header-to-port cable for each of the front ports. Personally I would just buy a PCI card that has onboard headers, then connect your front ports to that. I am yet to find one with more than one internal header, and One port up front is not worth a $20 PCI card...
