first off what size are the LEDs. and if your just changing the LED from one color to another then you shouldnt have to worry bout voltages and "such" just get the same size and switch em out. i bout new leds for my HDD and Power leds and i just cut off the old one and soldered the new ones on. but you could be in a diff situation.

Theyre 3 mm LEDs and i do have red 3 mm that look exactly the same and it seems simple enough to just take out the blues and solder the reds in but it isn't. the leds are in this white tube thing that just looks like a holder and they go through the pcb and are soldered in on the other side. do i just desolder the bottom of the pcb, see if i can pull out the led and stick in a new one? it seems simple now that i think of it but do led's have different brightnesses or are 3 mm's all the same. i got these red ones from radio shack a while ago.

most generic LEDs no matter where yah get em will have about the same brightness unless you get the THC3 ones then they are alot brighter. i dont think Radio Shak carries em so it will be bout the same as your old ones.

ok ill see what i can work up. what about desoldering, is there an easy way to do that? ive heard some people using a desoldering wick or wire or something like that? is there another easy way because i do not believe i have a desoldering wire. ive had bad xperiences with just sticking the solderin iron to solder and trying to get it off...

Most all led's will run from 1~3 volts. YES. Buy a desoldering wick (it's just copper braid), and get some flux (to make the wick work). Radio Shack should have everything you need for $5.
