| Alright, I've got an interesting problem. Below are two pictures of my case (stolen from newegg.com). The red in the second picture shows where I want to put my modeler's mesh. The problem I have is that I can't think of a good way to keep the middle T section (where the buttons and lights are) where they are. The only way I can think is to shave some parts around it instead of cutting it out, then laying the mesh over it. Any ideas as to how to keep the buttons where they belong? Thanks | ||

![]() Just a quick concept done in photoshop, I was thinking maybe cut out the T keep all wires intact, and cut the modders mesh leaving a few mm of mesh so that you could glue the T to the mesh with epoxy. Sanding may be needed. I do like ÜBER<>POOP's Idea on acrylic, you can sandwhich in the mesh with 2 pieces of acrylic along with the T ![]() | ||

| only problem with sandwiching the acrylic is it would resist airflow something wicked. Also, this stuff isn't nearly as sturdy as modder's mesh: it's more like a stronger screen-door type material, so there's no hope of it supporting the weight of the T with any sort of security. | ||

| Ok, her's a quick diagram that should work. And im not sure what king of meshing you got, but is it hex of diamond shaped. will make a difference. ok cut the hole for your meshing , take the meshing and make a bump in it so the it lays flat with your case but allows the area behind the front to be either epoxy or some kind of clips. if you epoxy all the way around it then it should be strong enough to support your middle piece. the front "T" and power buttons and whatnot arent that heavy. if you still need more support for it then make a bracket that runns from the left of the mesh over the mesh over the middle piece over more mesh and finaly graps ahold of the back or side of the front panel. depending. if none of this makes sense either say so or PM me. i'd be happy to help.![]() | ||

| http://www.****blick.com/zz334/08/pr...m=0&ig_id=2030 the Modeler's Mesh is what I have, I like your idea, Zer0s, I'm just not sure if it'll be sturdy enough. I don't know how to describe its strength, except to point out that it's not a punched sheet like modder's mesh, it's woven wire. edit: noticed the ****... replace it with a word that rhymes with "stick", is four letters, begins with a "d", and has the same last three letters as "click". | ||

| Is this what you have: ![]() If so, the just the middle piece and the power buttons should be able to hold up on it. what exactely are you afraid of but when you say support it. because when i think support i'm thinking being able to hold the middle piece. and one more ? are the wires pressed together of is there some kind of bonding agent used. | ||

| Okay, so for everyone who's missed it... the mesh is woven. It's more like window screen. And Duplex is right, it won't support the T well.... and definitely won't hold it when he pushes a button. I really think your only option is to make some standoffs and connect it to the metal frame. Edit: BTW Duplex, you may want to run some epoxy along the edges of the mesh aftr you've cut it into the desired shape to prevent it from fraying or shifting. No, i didn't mean to use panels of plexi, because of the air problem. I just meant that acrylic and hot glue would make good materials in a solution. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| thanks for all the tips so far, guys. once I get some sleep I'll post a pic of how I plan to do it, kinda reinforcing it with thin strips of acrylic from behind. Also, I do plan on using some epoxy or hot glue to keep everything together, CRE. Thanks for the tip. | ||
