Question Power supply sleeving help

I decided I wanted to sleeve my power supply. I have all my connectors and such, and a sleeving kit.

I would prefer not to have to pay $50+ to buy the tools that FrozenCPU.com sells to do the auxillery and ATX connectors, and a universal molex tool. Does anyone know of any normal tools that would do the job, or a place that sells them cheaper?

Here are the tools in question:

Ive found that sewing pins work well (the ones with the little plastic balls on one end of them).

The kind that you would use to stick something to your shirt, or a different kind?

My favorite is an eyeglasses screwdriver, just don't break one and stab your hand.

Awesome. I know I have a bunch of jewelers screw drivers... and I'm sure if I rummage I can find the hat pins.

LoL! That happened to me with my precision flat head hahaha.

Definately be careful! Jonny English posted a great link, I went back to it a lot when I was sleeving. Thanks for writing up such an awesome tut/guide!

Default Eeek.

Well, I've sleeved it. Now, does anyone happen to have an Antec True Power 550 that they can take a pic of the ATX connector?

I got slightly confused as I was putting the wires in... Could someone snap a pic of the top (side with clip) and bottom of it?

not sure exactly what you want here. You want pics of the PSu or of the connectors? I have a "slightly modded" true control 550 haven't found a PSU yet that I like the conector options on...anyways if your wanting body pics thats easy enough, but what good is that doing ya?

I honestly cant remember if someone posted this idea here or i ran across it on the net ....but anyway get to radio shaft and get a 1/4 or 1/8 adaptor jack for small headphones and chop the end off (its hollow ) and that works like a champ ,dont have to mess with searchin for the locking pins

The only reason why I could think you'd need that is if you took ALL the wires out rather than do them one at a time ... if so - doofus !!!!

Anyway - I've attached three pics - 1 is the ATX spec mobo connector pinout (which gives function rather than colours), 2nd & third are of a generic atx psu I had lying about ... Antec units (well, the one I used in the article) use the same colours.

Well, I didn't take them out all at once. I did them one at a time... thing was, I didn't know they fit back in only in one way, and as I was putting the 4th one in, the 3rd popped back out...

I plugged it into a beater I had lying around, and it powered up and sounded like it posted, however it did not sound like it continued to boot. I did not have a kb, mouse, or monitor plugged in though.

Thanks Johnny, I'll check those pics against mine.

if you have trouble with them staying in, run a small bead of hot glue across the back.
