Default turning front face upside down

Hi guys, First post on forums.

Firstly a big thanks theres so much great info on this site and nicely laid out i haven't looked at any other modding sites

Secondly I'm a complete noob to modding pc's and trying to complete my first one before the clans yealy lan end of month.

I'm trying to keep my first mod pretty simple, cable tidy up, a few lights, possibly case repaint and some window work.

All of which is nicely explained in your guides (Thank you very much!!! )

Part of my mod is to turn the front face upside down, going to try and use the airvents as eyes etc. But to do this i need to turn the front chassis panel upside down so the drive holders are matching the face panel.

Whats the best way to acheive this effect?

Just turn whole pc upside down?
File off the rivets on front chassis turn it and reconnect it?

any advice would help.

What case is it? It might be a lot easier to turn the whole thing upside down ... & possibly swap the top & bottom panels so the case feet are still at the bottom.

Wlecome to PR btw

Thx Jonny

to be honest not sure of the make of the case.

Pretty much stock case with profiled front.

I've had a closer look at the chassis and top and bottom panels aren't changeable.
Infact the base is folded from the back plate

and only way i can see to remove the front plate chassis is to remove the rivets.

Might be a step to far

I'll try and get teh digi camera out and post a pic so you an take a look.

I agree with johnny, turning the whole thing over would probably be easiest, unless you have a weird case bottom or something. This might benifit your cooling too. Proc @ bottom, heat rises away from it... This is how the new BTX form facor is layed out IIRC. There are also some new Lian Li G5 Ripoffs that do this too, mounting the mobo upside down in the left side of the case. I'd just flip the whole thing, might have to drill new holes for your dives though, but thats not a big deal.

thx cyno01,

the base is pretty std plainmetal with a few air vents.

Any suggestions for an alternative top?

my original plan was just to paint it, but i geuss this leaves a blank canvas.

First thing that comes to mind is frosted perspex rounded at edges, with colour scheme on underside.

Thanks for help guys, always nice to discuss thoughts
