Hi i have never modded my pc before but i hav only painted the case (not very well ). I have wanted to mod it for a while now but i cant come up with any ideas .

I am not askin for any ideas i would just like to know how you come across ur ideas.

any help would be nice and thanks in advance

Take a look at your computer. What would look pimp in your own opinion? Head on over to the galleries and take a look...maybe that will give you some ideas on what you can do to a computer.

Just find something you enjoy ... movie .. game .. music .. whatever and just close your eyes and think about it. Dont worry about how you are going to actually do it at this point, just think about the idea. After you get a basic idea, then you need to decide how complex you want the mod to be. A simple cutout style mod .. maybe a custom design. At this point you need to start thinking about How to actually pull it off

You could also just use the artist point of view .. just look around you and if somehting catches your eye, think about different ways to present it in a case mod.

Finding a subject that you enjoy should be easy. If you lack the artistic skills to bring your mental image to life .. then that is where the internet can help. Just start searching for images on the topic and eventually you should find somehting in line with what you want.


The hard thing is to design a case for someone else. I am having the hardest time figuring out a design for a wood case for my GF ...

I did try lookin about for things as i went but i never saw anythin that i would like to do. As for themed for movies games music ect i couldn't even begin to hav a rough image.


I hav possibly got an idea now , i am just planning it out for the morment. I will Need To get a new case as i will need a job and will try and get a 2nd machine but i can always do the case ahead of time.

Just make sure that you get an idea ahead of time of what kind of hardware you want in this new rig and plan for it so that way any mods you do to a case now won't interfere with what you put in later.

For example, my high school ag teacher many, many years ago slapped me around the head and shoulders one day before corporal punishment became verboten for cutting a board about 1/4" short. Jokingly, he added afterwards in a grizzly voice, "Ah hell, put some wood clue on the end and cover it with sawdust.".

Yeah i want to have everything planned before anything is modded or hardware is in mind. I want to get the case done before the hardware is even bought, for two reasons - so nothing is damaged in the process and after the case is done i can see any unplanned limitations.
