| Tanya was the 1997 911 Twin Turbo Porsche from the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds" The photos have been resized from 2048x1536...my desktop size ![]() ![]() This was a $60 RC car from New Bright in 1/6th scale, repainted in colour shifing automotive paint, rewired headlights and brake lights on a switch, added a neon tube license plate holder underneath. Here is a picture before the Motherboard was installed. ![]() Put a 9.5"x9.5" sheet of Aluminum down as to stiffen and support the main chassis and allow support to mount the Shuttle Motherboard tray. Left the dash for looks in this shot but was later removed when the Mobo was installed ![]() *Pre-mobo install* Here is a 'night' shot of this monster 1/6 scale RC car. Personally I think it looks more like a 'auto mag' shot of a real car then a 1/6th scale computer case. This was just after the Neon was installed. ![]() Here is the MSI Barebones system. The Motherboard was moved around until a proper mounting position was found. ![]() After the motherboard tray and HDD mounting bracket was installed. Please note the aluminum sheet below the HDD bracket which helped support the chassis from bending, sheering, and warping. ![]() An internal view of this computer. Here you can see the Waterblock in use. The internals are lit with a Blue circular cathode tube. Sharp eyes, and those who view the picture at full resolution will see the 'sponser' decals placed along the motherboard tray. ![]() Here is a 'night' shot of Tanya. Notice the LCD..that is an CD/MP3/DVD/AM/FM radio which is built into/with the motherboard. ![]() Here is a closeup of the LCD and internals. ![]() Sharp eyes can see the circular blue cathode tube attached to the 'ceiling' of the car. ![]() Just a little 'eye candy' for the exterior. ![]() I know it's ugly...but when I can afford that rack mount case, I will clean up this wireing. ![]() Twin Turbo? Try twin vent fans running on 'turbo' hehe. The switch to the side is for the internal cathodes. ![]() A closeup of the rear vents, the DMS logo, and allowing you to see the internals from a different angle. Specs are a MSI 651Barebones system, Intel P4 2.8Ghz, 512MB PC3200 RAM, 40GB HDD and An Aquarius II Watercooling unit. | ||

Thanks! Yeah, the wires really are awful, and if I was keeping the supporting case as a permanant base, I would have cleaned them up. As it is, I am planning on replacing that with a 2 or 3U Rackmount case. The reason I would like a differant base is that this case is quite short for my needs, and it would be nice to have something a bit cleaner to work with. The need for a base is I am running 2 power supplies and a watercooling unit. If I did not use any cathodes, under car neon, or watercooling, I would be able to mount that PSU in the car and forego that base case. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I like that idea of tinting the windows...I just may do that. I have some 70% tint in green and some 40% tint in black laying around... I never thought of a wooden base...that is a great idea! I wanted to fit everything inside the case but to do that I would need a 1/5 or 1/4 scale car. If you remember Dgroth's SWAT hummer, if we had used another hummer I might have been able to fit everything internally, but I always wanted to own a porsche. | ||

| bah, it sux.. it's so bad it isn't even wrth your effort to take it appart! send it to me and i'll dispose of it for you ![]() yeah, anyway.. my suggestion would eb a wooden base and maybe stain it mahogany and it'll look like a colector's model or somesuch and nobody wold think twice about it as long as you keep the base small as possible. If the base is larger then the model it may look odd. hell, to complete the deception, go to the mall and get one of those places that do engraving to make a nameplate for it something like Code: "Tanya" 1997 Porche 911 Twin Turbo 1/4 Scale 1337/10000 | ||

| When i first read this thread, i was like, "What a moron. This is CASE modding, not 'look at my cool model car' " haha who's the moron now? that's really awesome, and of course you'll have pictures when you get the 2(3)U rackmount and all those wires cleaned up. Order, not a request ![]() | ||
